WHEN IS ONE REALLY "RIPE" FOR MARRIAGE?

Though this my post/question(s) may appear "out of track" knowing fully well that it is a job seekers site where issues concerning jobs are discussed, I still believe that your geniune contributions/answers to these question(s) will go a long way in helping me and possibly some other members.

My questions are as follows:
1. When is one really "ripe for marriage?
2. Does age difference really matter in marriage?
3. What of religion/denomination and ethnicity/race/state do they matter too?

Please your candid/geniune contributions/answers will be appreciated.

Well I think the most important thing to be considered is emotional maturity and strenght. Are you also financially 'okay' at least to take care of your immediate family? The general idea is that any man looking at marriage should be in his very late 20s or early 30s, but I believe there are men who are much younger, yet already possess the right attitude and mentality to go into marriage. As far as I'm concerned also, with maturity and love, tribal or religious differences shouldn't be an issue except you want it to be one. It's just unfortunate that our parents keeps complicating the whole issue, making it to look like there's a big deal involved. It is well ;)

@emmer i support u on dat one..emotional maturity matters alot..dat is why some so called married couples see demselves as an individual in dat marriage not as husband n wife(i.e selfishness)..marriage is a life time aggrement in African culture..in sickness n gud health etc..so criteria is placed in it wen one is sure u know wat u want and ready fo it

Well i dnt know the best time for a woman to marry but i know very well that the best time for the other party to marry is when he attains manhood.I mean when he is a termed "A MAN"

so Mr Odeli what makes a MAN?

There is no stipulated time for marriage. this days pple get married even at the age of 23 below. Men these days will not get married till they acquire all the 'gud things of life' which is not supposed to be so.
@Odeli Pls i will like to really know why people get married at all

1. There is no fixed time for marriage. But I'll say when one is Spiritually, Mentally and Financially ready for what it takes to be married.

2. Age does not really matter in marriage as long as they both fall into the age category of "MATURED ADULTS".

3. Religion, ethnicity, race depends on individual preference. In the real sense it shouldn't matter.

You can't blame Men - especially in Nigeria! The average Nigerian girl wants to get married to a "Crested Man". 8)

Emer is right. I dont think it has to do with age. I believe emotional, spiritual and financial maturity are the things that count

Aside from physiological and biological characteristics, a person is termed as a man when he can effectively manage pressures, adversities and challenges of life of which managing a woman is a part of. If you are prosperous in the above, then you can proceed to marriage, irrespective of your age.
