UN Human Settlements Programme Job Vacancies (9 Positions)

The United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat) is the agency for human settlements. It is mandated by the UN General Assembly to promote socially and environmentally sustainable towns and cities with the goal of providing adequate shelter for all. UN-Habitat helps the urban poor by transforming cities into safer, healthier, greener places with better opportunities where everyone can live in with dignity. It works with organizations at every level, including all spheres of government, civil society and the private sector to help build, manage, plan and finance sustainable urban development.UN-HABITAT is the implementing partner of the Preparation of Structure Plans for four Urban Areas in Kogi State of Nigeria. This project, in line with the agreement between UN-HABITAT and Kogi State Government, is for the development of Urban Structure Plans for four urban areas in the state. These Structure Plans should contribute to achieving the set development goals of the Kogi State Government, the Habitat Agenda seeking adequate shelter for all and, achieving the Millennium Development Goals by improving the urban management.
