Job Description
An indigenous company, Incorporated in 1994 under the Companies and Allied Matter Decree of 1990. The Company is engaged in services such as Maritime operations, Dredging Services, Ship building and repairs, Road Flow lines and Pipelines as well as Transportation & logistics. Developing rapidly under the management of competent and prudent hands and becoming a household name for quality.
We are looking for suitably qualified personnel to fill this position.

Job Description:
Operates gasoline- or diesel-powered crane mounted on specially constructed truck chassis to lift and move materials and objects:
Drives truck to work site and directs activities of labourers
Hoisting in placing blocks and outriggers to prevent capsizing when lifting heavy loads
Starts crane engine
Moves levers and pedals to rotate crane on chassis, to raise and lower crane boom, and to raise and lower loadline
Operate crane according to signals from helper
Bolt boom sections together to extend or modify boom for pile driving or high lifting
Responsible for inspecting the condition of the work site prior to setting up his crane
Manipulates it to hoist position and/or transport material such as machinery, equipment and other construction products
He must be aware of how much material can be lifted safely based upon weather conditions and the capacity of the crane
Inspects and maintains his crane against any defect or malfunctions
Perform his work in a safe and efficient manner

Documentation Knowledge:
Driver logbook
Inspection report (pre-trip, en-route, post-trip)
Maintenance and repair reports
Trip reports
Accident or incident reports

Credentials (certificates, licences, memberships, courses, etc.):
Driver's Licence (Class 1 or A)
Air Brake (Z) Endorsement
WHMIS Certificate
H2S (Hydrogen Sulphide Awareness) Training
First Aid Certificate
Physically demanding

Specific Skills:
Monitor vehicle performance and mechanical fitness
Perform preventive maintenance
Perform emergency roadside repairs
Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials
Loading and unloading of goods
Tarping and ensuring safety and security of cargo
Receive and relay information to central dispatcher
Perform brake adjustments

Training & Knowledge:
Diploma: Secondary School Certificate combined with relevant experience
Training: Quality system (ISO), transportation of high density commodities
Knowledge: Oral and written communication skills, mechanical skills

Experience Requirements:
Minimum 5 years of experience as a Truck Crane/ Self Loader operator
5 years clean driving abstract
Valid Driver’s Licence

Type of Travel:
Must be ready to travel and work on the site in EDO state
