Shell Recruitment 2012

Hi all,
I was at the Lagos office yesterday for an interview (commercial graduate) though some were rescheduled for later in the week. I spoke to an HR person and the person said commercial SRD would end by end of Sept according to their calendar.

Also, all the commercial grads I interacted with applied Mar 2011 so were shocked to get the invite out of the blues.

I am not sure they are able to run commercial and technical SRDs concurrently though so perhaps technical SRDs might not commence till October.

I actually spoke to a staff there cos one commercial graduate used my number as her personal phone no (dnt ask aw, cos m still wondering)....I used the opportunity to ask her about the SRD for technical graduates, her reply was that they were still working on commercial graduates for now that it should be LATER IN THE YEAR.........whew, and the wait continues>>>>

see shell oh. my guy applied for the tech position in march, was shortlisted and wrote the selection test in may like every one else, hoping to get IV for SRD, see mail wey shell send am.

What could have happened to his test scripts? or does any one in the house know anyone that also got such mail? Abi dis na shell's newest way of composing regret mail?
Imagine, shell playing pranks on someone's emotion..........God help the poor jobless Nigerian youths oh.

Jst got the same email too, I got two test invitations and disregarded one. What is confusing me now is that I got the sorry mail on the one I actually attended! Guess stuff like this happens when you are trying to weed out thousands of peeps...

Lol . . . I can only deduce that this Shell is getting so confused. They kept some people on standby since last year and this year they also went on their usually over-hyped recruitment spree when they know they don't have technical graduate openings to fix new employees. Now they have left all the technical thing that was advertized and focused on SRD for commercial graduates, which I never saw the advert.
The earlier guys leave this Shell thing and focus on other things, the better.

Lets keep hope alive pls keep this thread active!

@Edgar G, you did not see any commercial adverts recently because Shell invited people who had applied to them for last year's commercial recruitment in Mar 2011 who were shortlisted back then (there was no commercial recruitment last year)

Ability to respond quickly by forging ahead after a disappointment is the virtue of a REAL man. We shall get there IJN. But really I thought the rejection mails were over. Shell should start inviting for their RD please. We need testimonies on this thread.

@ skudi,got info tht shell's reviewing as per course of study to trim down nbr of invites for SRD. Technical graduates cuts across geosciences-engr-physical sciences...a geology graduate tht meets d cut-off has nothng to do with a civil engr graduate. Hence my question

Yeah, that might be the case because, ever since shell has started rolling out the regret mail i have not heard of any Elect/Elect applicant that got one........i migth be wrong anywayz.
