My super moderator is there any harm in trying??
If u don't buy a raffle ticket how do u expect to win a lottery and in football if u don't shoot u don't score.
We shouldn't fold our arms and wait for God to physically come from heaven to intervene, maybe this is the Medium he has provided to help us.
Of course he assigned someone to manage his FB page, and he/she seems to be doing a good job cos the page is constantly updated and Issues are noted or addressed.
As I have always maintained we have nothing to lose.

Re: A new thread for NNPC Hopefuls
I HOPE, remember that tackling youth unemployment is a top priority for the PRESIDENT. I doesnt matter if he personally reads the facebook comments or not. Its his face book page. I dont want to believe that Nigerian youths cant write to their PRESIDENT. He Got my vote because of his promise to provide employment for those/youths who are willing to work. Remember the people or person, managing the facebook page gets paid for it. So lets him/her/they work for the money. We have to tell our PRESIDENT of our plight. Remember, the travelling (to and fro, both for aptitude test and the interview)was not cheap and there were reports that some hopefuls died in an accident while going for the aptitude test. Remember also that some of the 2010 hopefuls were part of the 2008 recruitment that was cancelled without any valid reason. The least we can expect is that this 2010 recruitment exercise to be concluded & if writing to our DEAR PRESIDENT about it has a slim chance of making a difference, i believe its worth the try. Finally, if MR PRESIDENT is not interested in the NNPC recruitment (an agency that Practically oversees and manages at least 60% of our nations wealth), then i honesly feel very sorry for the UNEMPLOYED NIGERIAN YOUTH.

In fact he came in 3rd. SO we must Keep writing. Though i want the nnpc job,i have my own biz. I believe most of our graduates are very business savy and creative, but they dont really know it or how to go about it. Please, Lets channel our energy to more useful and profitable initiatives. No body gets $1 for being very very intelligent. it really doesnt matter, if you line up very intelligent people in africa, DANGOTE will not top the list, so lets be wise,Enterpreneurship pays.
Very true. I think the same thing. I have decided to start my own business, so the NNPC job doesn't bother me as it used to.

Hello my people,
pls don't mind the 'retrenched NYSC director'. Like i said in one of my previous post, he likes to be heard and noticed any time he sensed no reference is made to him. At least, it wont hurt to give a trial.
Hey friend, i'm only trying to make us chat - not attack

Thinking logically I find a loophole in ur post, at this time when the govt is preaching youth employment wld they go ahead to embark on mass retrenchment ? I don't think so.
Listening to the pet and finance minister today in lagos, there's no way ur statement can be justified.
Figures released today state that 46%of youths are unemployed with 85% of youths unhappy with the employmnt opportunities in the country. This figure I even believe r understatements.
Finally, there's the pib bill to come as well.
Just my opinion. What's the source of ur info?

Re: A new thread for NNPC Hopefuls
@messi02: Thanks for the link
A copy of the article is presented below. Make ur own mind up. A revolution is imminent in Nigeria.
Mass sack looms in NNPC
Written by Hamisu Muhammad
The management of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) is planning to sack a large number of its work force, Daily Trust learnt.
But the workers’ union has issued a strong warning to the management of the corporation to reverse the decision or face serious industrial crisis.
Aside the staff retrenchment, Daily Trust gathered that the management of the corporation will, also soon, embark on some key reforms that will negatively affect the welfare of the staff.
The Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria (PENGASSAN) and National Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers (NUPENG) said in a joint stamen that unless such reforms didn’t take effect, they will soon embark on a serious industrial action that will paralyze the economy as has never been seen or heard.
The statement was circulated round the NNPC headquarters. Daily Trust obtained a copy of the statement yesterday.
The unions said they are angry over the planned retrenchment of staff and adjustment of the cost of living without due consultation of the unions by the management.
Other issues raised by the unions include planned phase out of the phased payment of January allowance and delay in the appraisal and promotion of staff.
The statement was signed by NNPC PENGASSAN Chairman, Comrade F.O Johnson and the NNPC NUPENG Chairman, Comrade O.B Udofia.
According to the statement, the NNPC management planned to embark on a retrenchment of young and energetic staff and retaining some old hands that add no value to the systems.
The unions said the choice is up to the management to treat these issues with urgency and dispatch action they deserve for peace to reign, adding that any implementation to the contrary will paralyze the economy as never seen.

True. They are finding it hard to pay staff some of their allowances.

Re: A new thread for NNPC Hopefuls
Those who think getting into NNPC is a short cut to becoming rich, D̶̲̥̅̊is article has explained everything. What is carried in the dailies is very true. Anyway, i dont blame myself, i voted PDP for continuity and fresh air, but it seems we can withstand d odour of D̶̲̥̅̊is air. God help us.

Typical lazy and scared Nigerian. That's y our leaders aren't afraid to do whatever they like to us cos they know we will keep mute and pray.
Where in the world do u wait 5months or more for the outcome of an interview. If its by prayer alone, nigeria shd be the greatest country in the world.
Why are u against us asking for answers via Facebook. Why

Why don't u storm d Towers and collect ur letter for the past 5 month, Mr Smart? Did u force dem 2 call u 4 test and interview? Must ur name be included? So why d fight? If u hate my post, why not ignore it and believe dat d other god (aggressiveness) u worship wil help u win? As 4 me, I trust in God and I remain His angel. I stand 4 peace. Quote:

Lollll.there's no reasoning with u. U also had the audacity to question the God I serve.
I never said my name must be on the list I am just asking for clarity on the recruitment process. Neither did I call for a fight or struggle all I said is we should ask questions and attract attention to our situation.
The president spoke this evening abt creating jobs, so if we say sir u aim to create jobs for the youths so y have the recruitment exercises in dpr, nnpc and some other govt agencies stalled for so long, as so on.
thanks for the cue, I'm not going to honour u with a response on this issue again.
Pls pls pls let's avoid blasphemy .
nobody holy pass

Re: A new thread for NNPC Hopefuls
I'm worried. Were Israelites saved from pharaoh by prayers alone? Prayers gave u degrees?
In Nigeria, we suffer bks we're blessed wt prayer-warriors and prayer-soldiers who turn out to be hypocrites in reality. We serve God bks of what we want to be not bks He is God that deserved to be worshipped. That's y after getting what we want, our true colors show.
If we serve God bks He deserves it, we'd kno dt asking questions and taking actions will not harm us in any way. B4 somebody accuse me of blasphemy, answer this question:
why don't u ask God when our letters will be released and stop visiting this forum?
-
Re: A new thread for NNPC Hopefuls
Answer this question:
why don't u ask God when our letters would be released and stop visiting this forum?
U'd ask no man. U'd ask ONLY God. U won't ask president Jonathan.
But here in this forum, u are asking reliable sources. See hypocrites!
-
Re: A new thread for NNPC Hopefuls
SMH, Nigerians and hypocrisy. Even God will be angry with such behaviour.
Moses asked obstinate Pharaoh "LET MY PEOPLE GO", he didn't just sit back and prayed.
When he met brickwall at the red sea, he streched the rod at the sea, not just sit lukewarmly and prayed.
-
Re: A new thread for NNPC Hopefuls
Thats the problem with Nigerian youths, always hiding under the shadow of religion, The BIBLE makes it clear that faith without works is dead, and that God makes impossibilities possible. Writing a comment is not an impossibility. did you really see how many battles the Israelis fought, and are even still fighting till today. No they should have just sat down, closed their eyes and prayed. If we are so holy as we always claim, then why are things not working in this country? this is the rubbish sentiment that our leaders prey on, they know we will pray, while they loot the country dry.The Arab youths should have done nothing and continued praying. Even in the UK, US and EU youths are up to the challenge. write a comment wahala, im praying, no problem. Thats why Nigeria is the most prayerful, religous and holier than thou country in the world, filled with so many "belivers". yet we are the third most corrupt, no jobs, no electricity, obsolete infrastructure, plus you cant sleep with your two eyes closed. Who is fooling who? Its a balancing act. I know u didn make 1st class by prayers only.(you prayed regularly, studied so hard, asked questions, did research, surfed the web, went for training, frequented the library, joined a study group, faithfully paid your tithe, and God did the rest).

Re: A new thread for NNPC Hopefuls
Can we all unanimously agree on our next line of action or do we continue with storming GEj's fb page. May the Lord guide our steps and desision making. And may he(LORD) see us through in all this. It is well
-
Re: A new thread for NNPC Hopefuls
What ar we apprehensive About? If those of us, wanting to start a revolution just for d fact that NNPC refused to call successful candidates for appointment, think that they've got enough reason to do so, then u'd better think twice. U want a revolution Because u seem not to be able to secure a lucrative job wit NNPC. Boko haram is Still a problem Today, have u urged d Nigerian youths to storm GEJ Facebook page on this? Nope, rather u all seek what u stand to gain. We have many other problems Which can give us cogent excuses for starting a revolution, but u all refuse to see them. Rather u chose to c NNPC not giving u job. So what happens after u secure d job with NNPC? Others can go to hell, isn't it? Selfish Nigerians. This was hw Ojukwu dragged d east into war, thereby causing many innocent PEOPLE to die while some Still live in Penury Today. Hw did he die? He died peacefully n STUPENDOUSLY rich. What amazes me Today is that we Still call them heroes (Gowon n Ojukwu inclusive), after their POOR leadership qualities plunged many into untimely death n untold Hardship.
-
Re: A new thread for NNPC Hopefuls
@Osezzua: my dear friend no one is calling for a revolution. If I may ask what's the purpose of GEJ's FB page?
Pls have a quick review of his page and u will see that most of the issues u raised and more have been mentioned there.
However if u r still unconvinced, what do u suggest we do?
