Re: A new thread for NNPC Hopefuls
I sincerely believe everyone reserves the right to say his piece whether right or wrong and moreso in a forum like this. All the so called tongue lashing of the Prof is just because he sided with the truth, which was that some people here misunderstood a certain statement and were calling for someone's head. Seriously speaking, for our own good, its not enough to sit back and claim English is not your mother tongue and therefore you're permitted to make blunders of the magnitude seen here. For a language you claim you passed through your primary, secondary and tertiary institutions with, it would be appalling if after half your life speaking it you still cant communicate with it. And you have a 2.1, or worse yet a 1st class!! I sincerely suggest you start reading up again, and brushing up your mastery of english. Even when you get the job it will still be necessary you're smooth. Most of us here claiming we did well in the interview, if you actually spoke the way you write here believe me you're going nowhere. They would happily score you low, because the competition is high. It will be a veritable avenue to weed off the excess, and you know I am right!! I went to a secondary school that has students from every state in the Federation, and the best of them at that. Some of our brothers back then from certain parts of the country couldnt make a sentence in english when they came there newly. Those that survived the JS3 weeding and got to SS3 left that school with a sound command of the language. Some even work for newspapers now. You too can humble yourselves and make such efforts. Not your mother tongue? Not an excuse.

Re: A new thread for NNPC Hopefuls
@ QED, the fact dt there are blunders in one's post does nt mean one won't do well in writing n speakin compectitn. No 1 is perfect. Even after ur so-called excellent basic educatn, I expected ur criticism 2 b freed of blunders both in structure n punctuatns. Eg
...its
not enough to sit back and claim
English (is) not your mother
tongue and therefore you're
...
And you
have a 2.1(,) or worse yet a 1st
class(!!) I sincerely suggest you
start reading up again(,) and
brushing up your mastery of
(e)nglish...
U av ur excuses bt nt enof 2 justfy it.So dont criticise anyone

Another half baked graduate.
@Hafeezyks, please understand and appreciate the fact that you are not the only engineer here, don't bring our efficiency to question, if as an engineer you cannot understand the simple posts of prof salvage, then it is finished. the standard of education has really dropped , If you say English is not necessary in engineering, then how are you going to understand concept like cybernetics epistemology, not to talk of its application in engineering. if i may ask you, what then is the medium through which these engineering knowledge was transferred to you. prof salvage has demonstrated in theory and logic that he is by far a better engineer than yourself, so please let it rest, or you haven't seen where engineers win essay competitions that involve mass communication graduates , English graduates and lawyers, and that doesn't make them lesser engineers because you cannot withstand their mathematical and imaginative ingenuity.

Re: A new thread for NNPC Hopefuls
Even while d house is being called 2 order, some people r still bickering & calling names. If u feel like abusing people or showing off ur prowess, open a new thread for dat.
It pains me to see ''graduates'' who should be thinking on how 2 contribute positively to national development come here and abuse themselves.
Education is a sure way of setting d mind free but it doesn't lead to a corresponding increase in wealth. D first 10 richest men in d world doesn't boast of a professor or an academician.
So please let us stay focused. NNPC we will not let u go until u release our offer letters not forgeting our transport allowee. But our hope is still in God...Shalom!

Re: A new thread for NNPC Hopefuls
Kalokalo, where is ur promised post 2 confirm dat next week is d week? And 4 all those fighting over grammar, u are all displaying immaturity. U have not gotten ur letters, yet u fighting over grammar. Is dat not academic insanity? Let's be 4cused.

Re: A new thread for NNPC Hopefuls
This forum is turning into something else. Possibly the frustration from the NNPC stuff. However it may, we should be civil and be able to control oneself. I have a question for all those speculating baseless information. Is it that u guy's don't hv somthing doing apart from NNPC anticipation? Why most u post wrong information? If I may say, this thread has hit 137 and counting but out of which 72.99% (100) are baseless and unwanted info in this thread. Pls the administrators should upgrade to filter away such unwanted info. By so doing ppl will take every thing serious. NNPC will surely call, don't be bordered much about when, rather diversify ur mind. God bless Nigeria.

Re: A new thread for NNPC Hopefuls

Re: A new thread for NNPC Hopefuls
What is really the meaning of all these nonsence? Does it mean that somebody just keep silence since all these while makes him/her a foul? Why is it that some people here can't even reason maturely! Why all these grammers for? If you guys think that you have a good level of english command, that left for you over there! Why all these noise making for? If you think that you can speak very well, just reserve your grammatical ingenuity to your children or the unborn ones ok! Ahhh.......
