I'm just curious @ whitejoe, I'm a budding Christian and I try to make the bible the standard for any doctrine I believe in as a Christian. I always take every opportunity to learn as well as to teach. My bible makes me understand that:

    New International Version (©1984)
In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God's grace - Ephesians 1:7

There are some Charismatic and Pentecostals that use the practice (now a cliché) of pleading the blood over people that are unsaved and things they want cleansed or delivered. Just about anything gets the blood pleaded over it. But this is an unbiblical practice; nowhere do we read of the apostles "pleading the Blood". We see no such practice by the apostles or instructions in the epistles to do any such sprinkling or pleading of Christ's blood on anyone (even those demon possessed).

In the Old Testament it was a physical act by the priest to put the blood on the altar, not moving it from one place to another. It is the same principle in the New Testament, one cannot move it on to those people or things for cleansing by speaking, (pleading it). The blood represents the life of the person; we cannot plead His life on others? Only the high priest handled the blood to go on the mercy seat for the forgiveness of sins, Jesus is the one who sprinkled His blood, not us. We can’t physically touch it today nor can we apply it somewhere else spiritually, since we are not the high priest, Jesus is.

He said this is my body pointing to the Passover lamb motif in the Old Testament as a type and shadow. He was given as a lamb on a specific day and time for a specific purpose. If it was done any other way or day it would not have been acceptable. Just as John the baptizer introduced him as "the LAMB that takes away the sins of the world". Christ fulfilled all the Old Testament types and shadow including the scapegoat but it was the Passover lamb that is of the most importance. He was judged instead of us, so he passed over our judgment and we go from death to life.

Hebrews 9:7-14 has a deep revelation on Christ sacrifices and his blood. Scripture makes it crystal clear the blood of Christ unlike the high priest type in the OT did was offered once and for all, not repeatedly like the OT. Hebrews 9:11-12. By His death He poured out His life and died for our sins we would be reconciled by it. This was done as a propitiation to the Father almost 2,000 years ago and is still effective today. The atonement was for man and unto God the Father. Propitiation for sins is always toward God, not toward man. The Father accepted His payment for our sins. We ourselves do not touch the blood, it is applied to our lives by the high priest who is Christ when we believe in faith to receive his Atonement. Eph.1:7; Col. 1:14 says "in whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins". and Rev. 1:5: "To Him who loved us and washed us from our sins in His own blood". This occurred almost 2,000 years ago.

Stop pleading the blood in a religious manner because the blood had already being pleaded and shed for the remission of sin. There is no magical power in an unending application of the blood of Jesus for the numerous uses it is applied for today. It was for our redemption, cleansing and forgiveness of sins only. To use it as such is to have a distorted view of its application today and an irreverent understanding of it being precious, incorruptible and holy.

Re: A new thread for NNPC Hopefuls

Ezme...since the bible's doctrine is what you believe in, where does it say in your bible that the NNPC 2010 recruitment cannot be resurrected? Where did God say it has to make Logical sense to man before He performs a miracle? Where did God say some things like the NNPC 2010 recruitment are beyond his miracle working scope? You can go on with your puerile gabblings about how people have become idle "hoping against hope" for a job which seem beyond possible, but except you are a compulsive scoffer you would have been to see that the peeps here are not as foolish as you made them out to be. Now your conceit has taken a differnt dimension, even ABCD your mentor has cooled off, but here you are- a self acclaimed budding christian making a pastime out of mocking people's faith...you are as the Bible describe your ilk- "wise in your own conceit". ....And before you start massaging your ego about the last post you made on the use of the blood (which, by the way you copied from GOSHEN360 on ) let me state that you started on the wrong foot , so even if your pungent reputation has gone ahead of you...nothing you will ever post will make sense again

Ezme, it is true that Christ shed his blood once and for all for us. But I disagree with you that pleading the blood of Jesus doesn't Have any effect and that it is un-christianlike.

For instance why Do we still celebrate holy communion in churches. Jesus Himself commanded us to be doing so. The most important thing in this sacrament is not the physical bread nor wine but what they represent. And testimonies abounds of people who received miracles by taking holy communion.

During the passover the children of Isreal used the blood of lambs on their door posts and it saved them from death. If the blood of lambs can deliver to that extents what of that of Christ. It is true that He died years ago but His death.has made all of us priest and anyone who believe in Him can plead His blood in his situation.

During ones baptism the priest says I mark U̶̲̥̅̊ with the cross. Does this also implies that since Christ died long ago we should be using the cross in churches?

Why is it that @ the mere mention of the name of Jesus miracles happen. Should we stop using the name of Jesus to pray also?

When Abel was killed, his blood continued to speak for him even @ death. If the blood of Abel a mortal can speak for him, how much more will the blood of Christ who is a God Do for those who believe and use it on their situation

The blood of Jesus has in many occasion delivered me from troubles both seen and unseen and I will continue to plead it.

.....And they defeated him by the blood of the Lamb and by their testimony...... REVELATION 12 vs 11 (new living translation)
The blood is a tool for victory in battle. Take note.
For some one to be a christain & put reason ahead of faith, is a great mockery. Is it reasonable to believe that God has a son? How did u become a christain since u place reason above faith.

House members make una no vex. I wont post again to correct any thing else of such. Pls forgive me guys
