Re: A new thread for NNPC Hopefuls

The categories of persons on this thread:

    1. The genuine hopefuls. (Those that got here on merit after the interview)
    2. The would have been hopefuls. (Those that failed the aptitude/skills test, they couldn't make it to the interview stage)
    3. The fake hopefuls. (Online peeps who guise in different names and pretend to be among just to obtain informations, yahoo yahoo)
    4. The NNPC/DPR Sponsored (Some cadre of staffs and machineries who tend to protect their shots at all cost)
    5. The MPR Sponsored (Same as 4 above)
    6. The government sponsored. (Same as 4 above)
    7. Self sponsored agents of goodwill (Sympathizers, these are good will people who feel the pain and as much as possible encourages the hopefuls)
    8. Self sponsored agents of destruction 1 (Generally wicked minded people who derive fun just to see how it hurts)
    9. Self sponsored agents of destruction 2 (Generally wicked minded people who derive fun in getting back at people because they were denied)
    10. NHJ Sponsored (This is purely to get more hits on the site, and increase its popularity. For the business of it)
    11. And others (Any other category not mentioned above)

I have been studying all posts, contributions and users on this forum. Very soon you will get to know who is who on this thread.
There is a genuine cause and this cause must be achieved. Some of us might be surprised to know this, but it is the truth about what is going on in this thread. So that you will know the forces you are fighting against. Mind you, every category mentioned above have their goals. So lets be wise

Another Category are people who have entered through the back door between Nov 2010 and now!, and don't want you guys to bring the attention of Nigeria to the recruitment so that they are not kicked out

A privilege is a special entitlement to immunity granted by the state or another authority to a restricted group, either by birth or on a conditional basis. It can be revoked in certain circumstances. In modern democratic states, a privilege is conditional and granted only after birth. By contrast, a right is an inherent, irrevocable entitlement held by all citizens or all human beings from the moment of birth.

The basic definitions above are not mine but terminology. Perhaps you should understand that I did not question anybody's right to demand the conclusion of the process, in fact you can sue to know your fate in the selection process.......However it is the assertion that anyone has the RIGHT (Irrecoverable entitlement) to being hired by NNPC that I fault.

Privileges, Elder Kafox, do not suggest patronage or leaning on anyone’s discretion, so I do not see why the word elicits so much emotion.

By dis every Nigerian has d RIGHT to apply for any opportuinities in dese organizations and as well choose to or not to fold his arm when this RIGHT is being abused by these organizations.

Nobody is saying dat NNPC/DPR must employ him in particular.

Look, private institute in Nig are even being mandated to make Nigerians a greater percentage of their workforce. In d Niger Delta, for instance, it's a RIGHT for an indigene of any locality do be employed gainfully FIRST by any OIL firm in dat locality b4 any other indigene from anoda locality. It's a RIGHT for any Nigerian to demand for employment from any govt parastatal not to talk of demanding for d succesful conclusion of an ongoing recruitment by a govt parastatal.

What do u think FCC's job is? I'm suprised u still insist dat u'r a lawyer. It's only a priviledge to win VISA lottery or get employed by TOYOTA for instance. RIGHTS can be d PRIVILEDGES one gets in his father's house.

Grow up men! I think u guys sound more of inexperienced in d labour market and should derefore learn from some dudes u've been attacking here.

Nigerians are getting more and more aware by the day, and one day not too far away we will see.
We have been made to believe that it is a privilege by a privileged few to get anything here in Nigeria as a Nigerian. Which act, motion, bill, law or conjunction is that? The use of the word privilege in this context denotes the total and complete denial of the Nigerian to get gainful employment into it's MDA'S. There are better words to use other than privilege. Are you the one to give the hopefuls the privilege or you know who can give such privileges?

Only using an English word the way I know it along with its legalistic meaning, you can advise an alternative word. In anycase once you meet the condition precedent you have the right to enforce your priviledge.

I would however rest this exchange on the semantics between right and priviledge........I understand how you see it and I hope you understand the angle from which I have spoken.

Re: A new thread for NNPC Hopefuls

    Good day All,

@ Law Maker and Co . Privilege or Right you are both correct. Some People have 2.2 for GT but where not privileged to be shortlisted for the aptitude test. to me it was their right to apply but based on NNPC's requirement they were not privileged to cross the application stage.

Some people have 2.1 but where above 30 at d time of application and where not privileged to be called for aptitude test. Some people have 2.1 and did not pass the test. some people passed the test and will not make it into the final list. So while it is everybody's fundamental human right to enjoy everything a citizen in this country is supposed to enjoy, some things at the end of the day will be enjoyed by privilege. So just leave privilege and right issue aside.

@ All the most important thing is to get the letters of both NNPC/DPR out from the Ministry of Petroleum Resources. To me, a simple way in helping us achieve this amongst other means is to write an open letter to Mr. President.

@ All those saying letters are flying out. I wont say you are lying because i believe you guys should be getting your info from sources within NNPC if its genuine. However if what you said is true and by today or within the next one week no letters come out. It only means probably Oniwon Approved the issuance of the letters and now this new management has rescinded his decision or rather put it on hold.

So the best way is to let them know that we are watching and make sure the first thing they tackle will be man power resourcing. To achieve this i believe an open letter and other ideas suggested by bebrief will go a long way in helping us achieve our purpose.

A family member put a call thru to someone at the towers and the person's response is this "The new board has to settle down first before they can do anything". However he might have limited information and might be voicing his own opinion. I can't say for sure.Moreso don't know what how high he is in the management system. This is just by the way.

@ Bebrief and Co thumps up to you and go ahead with the Open letter and kindly make it as civil as possible. I am solidly behind you. The Good Lord will reward you for all your kind efforts.

@ all lets keep praying for a speedy completion of the process. For those who want to contribute we are already approaching the last hour. Kindly do so as soon as possible.

It is well God is in control.

@kofax and co:u cn mak an intelligent argument without attackin personalities pls.Its my area of jurisdiction.I dnt think u r 2conversant wit interpretations.Read very clearly.Im in total support of ur mission.D motive here is to ensure ur 'letters r released'. Its a 'right' for all nigerias to apply for employment in NNPC,bt young man its not a right u MUST work(b employed) in NNPC.Its a competitive situation nw cos many will do well bt d spaces r 'limited'.Remb nt every1 dat applied were shorlisted for d test even wen dey met d minimum requirement. So think deep! I can lead a team to d various heads bt due to d ethics of my profession i cant.Ur open letter shud b on d soft n direct since u r addressin it 2d president.U arent sure if u will mak d list bt d house jst wnt 2see d 'successive conclusion'.Nobody is hapi wit d situation so far bt none of u can tell actually wat d prob is.Ppl hv done so many publications on different recruitments lik dis b4 n i knw hw it went.God bless u all.

From_France, welcome back. The last time you made prediction here you said if it did not come to pass, they should cut off your head (remember?), so when you didn't show up i started wondering if your head was still intact. You have started saying another one now, what should we cut off this time, your manhood?

@Jeffisme, even a blind baby knows you are a lawyer, and your legalistic approach has consistently put you at the risk of being misunderstood. you have to appreciate the hold of registers in assigning definitions and meanings to thought process. at times i wonder why we detract from the focus to debate trivial issues that border on semantics, we are at a crucial stage in the recruitment struggle, and emphasis should be on methodologies to be adopted to ensure the release of letters.

Who told u November? Why u people dey post rubbish? So if u are truly awaiting this recruitment results, would u bliv it? While some people are confirmed that the letas had been dispatched, even a friend working with NNPC gave me unsolicited calls that the letas had been dispatched, I guess the couriers are packing the letas in envelopes. Forget ur info, it might be that ur source didn't want u disturbing him/her. keep watch.
