Has anyone tried 2 open d nddc site today?
It saying The Site has been Suspended, hmmmmm, i wonder what that means
It's back now
I believe d next stage will be d interview stage, where they will see u and ur credentials. Cut-off mark will depend on ur state's general performance.
I hope the state cut-off mark thing works because the first state that went in had it worse owing to the fact that they weren't told how many questions they had coming until the last 3mins or so, at which point a good number of them hadn't even gone halfway. Also, considering that they had no fore-knowledge as to the kinda questions that they met, other sets/states had an edge seeing as they got info from the first set.
In all, it is well!
NDDC should please conduct interview because the test was not ideal especially for us that were the very first set. We were not informed as per how many questions, in fact I was misled when one of the cinfores guys said it was 50 questions, 5 minutes to the time. I had to go back to attempt other questions I jumped only for me at the end of the test to find out it was 60 questions. After the exam, I confronted him only for him to deny. I would have doubted myself if two another candidate hadn't come to confirm the same thing. Anyway, I still managed to pass 30. Being the first to write a test always has its disadvantages but we hope we will scale through to whatever that is next.
Abeg what's the latest concerning the test cut-off and when are we expecting the interview????:D
Pls Who has any idea on d number of people dey plan 2 award d scholarship
Guy, I'm really surprised at your comments. You scored 30 and you are here complaining. How many people do you think scored up to that? You should be thanking God my friend. I also scored in that region and I'm full of praises to God. Secondly, it not the cinfores guys to tell you anything so stop the blame game. Probably, you would have also expected him to tell you the answers abi? Why can't we be appreciative for once.
At least there is a little bit of transperancy in the selection process. My brother, I would not want an interview because man know man can set in at that stage and there is nothing you will do about it. I will like them to use the PTDF pattern. i.e. pass the test and qualify for the scholarship period.
Thirdly, if you were in the second set and you were told the format, guy there's is nothing you would have done at that time. Simple.
Thank God and stop complaining.
Cacking, Thank you for telling them.
God is in control.
Ppl let's keep dis thread busy & updated like d NNPC thread, be informative. Silence wont do any good than harm
Ppl why 're U guys dulling dis thing, 're U nt feeln d NNPC thread? Every minute smtin comes in. Meeeenn let's get started, be informative,& get talkn by d seconds, silence wont do any good than harm.
You are welcome. You see at times people don't know when there is a change. Now you know your score and again relative to other people's score. I have written exams that I felt I did very well but at the end of the day I don't get shortlisted which I assumed that I didn't do well. But the NDDC people made it possible for us to see our scores, which to me show transperancy so you can start having hopes of the next stage or you forget it based on your scores and move on.
Please does anyone know how much the scholarship is worth?
3,100 CANDIDATES COMPETE FOR NDDC SCHOLARSHIPA total of 3,100 candidates of Niger Delta extraction out of about 6,000 that applied for the NDDC Foreign Scholarship Scheme have written an electronic examination.
The candidates consisting of persons for the Master and Doctorate Degrees were drilled in general science among others.
Speaking to newsmen at the Rivers State University of Science and Technology, ICT Centre, venue of the aptitude test, the Director, Education, Health and Social Services, Dr. Christy Atako explained that the choice of electronic examination was to enable the Commission shortlist the right candidates to be interviewed for the scholarship scheme.
"It is a transparent way of short-listing them, each candidate has opportunity to compete and then we would take the best", Mrs. Atako said, disclosing that several applications were received but only those who met the criteria were shortlisted for the computer based test.
On emphasis in the sciences, Dr. Atako said "you know we have a lot of gaps in our oil and gas sector, and that is what we desire in the Niger Delta region and Nigeria at large".
According to her, "we also need to encourage our youths to show interest in engineering for the sake of our projects. We need qualified engineers that can manage our projects just as in agriculture, environmental science and other science related courses".
"We believe that our children should have some exposure outside the country in addition to their studies to enable them learn from people of other nations in both lifestyle and academics", she said.
Speaking on behalf of the consultant, Mr. Asawo Ibituro emphasized that electronic examination breeds transparency. "There is no room for anybody to change your grade since your picture and details are in the system, after writing the examination your score is reflected immediately".
Some candidates who spoke to journalists, thanked NDDC for the electronic examination, pointing out that it was not only fair but gave the applicants equal opportunity to compete.
The Commission recently conducted similar electronic examinations for Engineers and Lawyers seeking employment into the NDDC.

Hey guys am probably the Newest person to this forum but I bring you good tidings so much more that you guys will respect me for life lol just kidding. I have been able to gather unofficially the names of those in each state who have made it to the final Selection list of the NDDC for the 2012 foreign scholarship.
The decision by NDDC was based on a cut off Mark of 26 and all those above 26 were selected. From 3100 candidates 1089 in total made it to the final list. The few chosen will be contacted soon once a date has been decided for their interview. To confirm this please navigate to this link:
http://www.nddc.gov.ng/shortlisted3/
In the interest of not getting NDDC to shut down this link I advice we all keep the identity of this link on the low until it has been officially published by them. Please don't ask me how I got to know about that link, ask my web crawler lol who can scavenge from any site. Just make sure your site is not a target lol.
Once again congratulations to you all that made it to the final list, and I hope to see you guys at the top soon. Please keep an eye out for the date when the interview will be held and communicate any further updates from NDDC to the forum as soon as you become aware of one.
If you appreciate my ingenious help then drop a word of thank you to consolidate the effort.
Warm Regards,

@Wiseguy4real.you are a good man.
Well not expecting much from the list if they say 26, I scored 24 my name aint there obviously but I read on its 24 though no list was attached there, I would advice those who scored above 25 to be patient till this list is confirmed on the main site page. Though this looks authentic
@IsiomaP let's not seat n fold our hands, I also scored 31 buh der was a mistake in exam in dat anoda persn details appeard in-place of my PIN. So am going frm Calabar to NDDC office in PH to complain. I won't kip quiet on dis mata. God help me
I don't think we should fold our arms but we've got 2 think b4 going der, where will u tell dem u saw d list? It's not been released officially. As soon as d list comes out on nddc website we'll go there n complain but 4 now I don't think it's a wise decision
Well there are 2 sides to the story. One you need to meet the cut off mark of 26 and the other you need to have a slot of availability in your state which is subject to how people performed in your state region. So for example if there are 160 slots for your state (based on your state's quota of crude oil production) and 159 people had above 35 then in practice the state allocation method of elimination super-seeds the cut off mark method of elimination and in such a case you more likely to be left out not because you did not meet the cut off mark for the selection, but because too many people within your state made it above you so much more that the quota for your state has been exhausted before your score could be considered as relevant to the decision.
I must say some states were more competitive than others, and similarly some state had too many intelligent people all crowded for the same award. I know states like Imo and Abia was full of brains because their scores were something else. Both criteria must work in your favor for you to be selected.
Hope this helps any one with questions.
Wiseguy4reel
@Enjayjude, ofcourse there will still be an interview(judging wat they said on their website that the test is to reduce the number for interview). @ IsiomaP , you have sponken wisely indeed..@yungnels, listen to her, lest you pour sand in everybody's garri.@Wiseguy, i respect your ingenuity(as long as you use it only for legitimate/helpful purposes like this). Anyway i saw my name on the list and i scored above 26, but i'll wait for nddc confirmation
No in the end 200 slots of scholarship award will be shared between all the states in the Niger Delta region. So the interview will be held and aimed at further downsizing 1089 to the lucky 200 who will then be the official NDDC 2012 Foreign scholars.
Hope this helps.
