Job Description
The Micro Projects programme is funded by the European Commission in assisciation with the Federal Government of Nigeria

Responsibilities:
Work in partnership with the Contractor; develop a spirit of mutual trust and co-operation.
Ensure through on-site supervision that the construction works are undertaken to required designs, specifications, standards and EHSQ requirements.
Manage / supervise the contractor under the FIDIC contract and be the nominated ‘Supervisor’.
As assigned by Project Manager undertake contract administration, e.g. issue PM instructions to the Contractor and facilitate fair and reasonable resolution of compensation events and variations.
Make recommendations where extra resource or alternative work processes are required to maintain or increase performance.
Monitor project cost and provide Project Manager with timely identification of deviations from budget.
Ensure that quantities of completed work items are agreed with the Contractor.
Ensure maintenance of daily records of all site activities, including information on labour and plant, and any non-compliant materials or workmanship.

Qualification/Experience:
Degree in Structural/Civil Engineering.
3 years experience in management of rural based construction projects like school building, borehole drilling, road construction and rehabilitation of infrastructures.
Excellent field experience in supervision and monitoring of construction works.
Excellent experience in cost estimation and quality control areas.
Work experience with sub-contractors in construction projects.
Have experience in handling environmental issues related to rural infrastructure.
The candidate must be conversant with computer software like AUTOCAD, MS words, Excel and must be conversant with the terrain and have field experience in the Niger Delta states.
Fluency in English, both written and oral.
Excellent communication skills.
