The Federal Government has come up with a Local Content Policy that is aimed at ensuring that Nigerians carry out the projects that used to be done by expatriates. In line with this plan, we have packaged a training program that will prepare fresh engineers with relevant skills to be able to adequately stand in their stead. Learning these programs gives one edge in gaining employment in the industry.
Based on this it has become necessary for certain engineering design and modeling software to be learnt and mastered. These are the software that professionals use in the industry to carry out their projects efficiently. They include; HYSYS PDMS, AutoCAD, Primavera, etc.
HYSYS is a well known process software in the Oil and Gas industry. It is used for design, modeling and simulation of process plants. Presently, it is being used by SHELL, CHEVRON, NNPC, EXXON-MOBIL AND many oil servicing companies.
PDMS is a Design and simulation software that is used to model oil and gas Processing Plant. It is the most popular 3D Simulation software that is used for this purpose because of its capabilities and functions.
For this purpose a training institute has been opened in Port Harcourt that emphasizes teaching this software to the point that the trainee gets an in-depth knowledge of the package and also gains mastery of the tool. The Trainers are experienced professional engineers.
Training is open to graduates and students of Chemical, Mechanical, Petroleum, Civil, Metallurgy, Environmental Engineering as well as Geology and Industrial Chemistry.

The training will cover vital areas in HYSYS, it will include the modules listed below. THIS WILL BE FOLLOWED BY AN ASSESSMENT WHERE THE TRAINEE WILL DESIGN AND MODEL A VARIOUS COMPANY PROJECTS USING HYSYS. CERTIFICATE WILL BE ISSUED AFTER THE TRAINING. THE TRAINING WILL LAST MINIMUM OF 3 WEEKS.

· Propane Loop Refrigeration
· Gas Processing Plant
· NGL Fractionation Train
· Oil Characterization
· Acid Gas Sweetening with DEA
· Natural Gas Dehydration with TEG
· Reporting in Aspen HYSYS

THIS WILL BE FOLLOWED BY AN ASSESSMENT WHERE THE TRAINEE WILL DESIGN AND MODEL A COMPLETE PROCESS PLANT.
CERTIFICATE WILL BE ISSUED AFTER THE EXERCISE.

A. Equipment Building- (vessels, pumps, heat exchanger, etc.)
B. Piping; Generating Isometric for Fabrication
C. Structural steelwork- (Column, Beams, Panels and Plates, Wall and Floors)
D. ASL Modeling (Access, Stairs and Ladder)
E. Production of MTOs and piping general assembly, Spools Production, etc.
F. Conversion from PDMS Draft to AutoCAD
G. Clash Detection and Consistency Checks to ensure Design Accuracy
H. Annotations, Dimensioning, Labels, Adding Text, etc.


THIS WILL BE FOLLOWED BY AN ASSESSMENT WHERE THE TRAINEE WILL DESIGN AND MODEL A COMPLETE PROCESS PLANT. THE TRAINING WILL LAST MINIMUM OF 4 WEEKS.
CERTIFICATE OF COMPLETION WILL BE ISSUED AFTER THE EXERCISE.
