@Sakabu do mean normal Dumb or refering to somtin else cuz ds is nt appealing all clarify me pls
@All. I didnt apply for DPR buh I've been following this thread closely. I really want to see someone get his medicals invite. I want to witness someone get this job cos d last tym anyboby ever got on merit a job related to d ministry of petroleum's 2006. This ministry's consistentently failed d country in terms of nationwide recruitment. However, d minister of petroleum has given us hope of changes in d ministry. Lets keep praying for a joyful end. Goodluck to everyone. I'l also pray for y'all.
On the premise that Sakabu's info/claim is valid:
1. Who is d perm sec? Is it G*** M**a S*e*k*?
2. Somtin like dis happened to DPR in time past and d whole recruitment was nt flushed. Illegal candidates entered illegally.
3. U can try media houses/org like sahara. Bt pray they don't escalate the whole tin.
4. Pray DPR stands on merit.
5. U may win or not cos some forumites are included in 30-candidate list(only if it exists)
6. SAKABU, kindly verify ur claims. I believe d perm. sec. is clean.
@Pedestal man ds tin av givn me sleepless nyt hp ds thread dnt exist 1st so we jst get to see d list wen its release buh naw al ds subtractn n additn is killn me buh its very important we shldnt frget our almighty Allah E sees it all and E wil stand in fr us Insha Allah keep ur fait strong n pray E will do it against their will Amen!!!
@All: Beleive me or not, the perm sec is from Borno state. . .
Let's not kill ourselves over this God is in control. DPR cannot take 30 names from 1 person. It will be cut down. Even if God comes down now FG recruitment won't still be clean.. I know some DPR staffs who got recruited in 2008 on merit.. So let's all pray our names come out no matter what happens.
No shaking, cause GOD will surely do it for us which he has done.
@DPR..........taking 1200 people won't kill the org...rather it will boost the economy... y so cruel to graduates?
Young men and Ladies, what if we start hyping and making a fuss and it turns out that your names are on the list afterall, but because of impatience, the whole process is cancelled, and then another fresh criteria is used to recruit , which may or may not include fresh Aptitude Test etc. Let us not act foolishly over facts that we are not sure about. A word is enough for the wise...As for me, I trust God's judgement on whoever messes with my name on that list!
Sakabu's info is only tryna tell us d@ the battle iz not yet over.It means d@ we still nd toh equip ourselves wit prayers n strenghten our faith until sumfin happens.I once heard 4m a Man of God d@ behind obstacles, thr iz alwz a miracle. All we nd iz jst PERFECTION n he will surely do it.
No cause 4 alarm,God iz in control.
@Denis Bekharm N Oando i feel ur spirit men all we need naw is to raise hands in prayers God wil surely do it for us.......Amen to all our prayers!!!!!
The info 4m Sakabi iz jst tryna tell d@,the battle iz nt yet over.We still nid tew equip ourselves wit prayers n strenghtn our faith until sumfin happens.W@ we nid dz moment iz jst prayers 4 PERFECTION.I once heard 4m a Man of God d@ behind obstacles thr iz alwz a miracle.
I'v gt dz impression d@ majority of d successful ones will b by MERIT.
No cause 4 alarm, tew avoid CANCELTN of d execise, let's jst allow God take control.
@kafox,u gona surely witness our invites 4 Medicals.
Sakabu also said d@ sum DPR staffs re fightn against d manipultns,i cn clearly see d Hand Work of God thr.
pls guys we had been fed with so many stories not knowing which to believe.where are the others dat claimed dey have source from DPR?bro theo, korokoro and others pls u guys seems to have reliable info why the silence now.pls help us get to ur source.my candid advise is dat we should verify the claims of sakabu before doing anything stupid dat wil make d all exercise to be canceled cos our names are there and nothing is going to happen to them.pls let be wise.this is like a sermon inspired by God believe it.:):):)
TD perm sec. may nt b responsible for d seemingly impasse. As a matter of fact, ppl frm high places hv bn submitting list even b4 it got to d interview stage. But DPR purposed frm d very start to hv sm ppl on merit hence d interview. D idea was to get a set no. on merit n fill d rest wt slot of ppl frm above as is done in most fed. govt. parastatals. Now d madam incharge (head of cooperate affairs who hails frm Delta) put in more ppl frm her area after doing 90% of d job. This led to her being redeployed since what she submitted does not agree wt fcc. Already Delta has d highest no. in DPR, so d no. frm dat area had to be less in accordance to fcc. This led to d genesis of d delay we all ar witnessing. Now a new committee headed by smone else took over frm madam. What SAKUBU said earlier was correct. 2 to 3 ppl based on merit frm each state will make d final list while d rest will come frm d various interests. Also KOROKORO was right when he said dat sm states have 3 ppl while sm had as much as 9. This is to balance d prevailing staff distr. in DPR so as to reflect fed. Xter. The goodnews is dat d comittee met last sunday and hopefully, this whole tn will soon come to an end. It is only God that can help us in this country so we must kp calling on Him. Remember..."He is a very present help in d tm of need"... Jesus is lord!
Wow!!!now my heart can stop pounding, bro theo u just pacified my fear, thanks to all that have contributed,i guess it all bilges down to wait and pray, and that we will do with alacrity
"Peace, Be Still" I hear in my spirit. He knows the thoughts that He thinks towards us; thoughts of peace, not of evil, all in a bid to bring us to an EXPECTED END!
Thanks Bro Theo Walcott. God bless you. Guys, guys, guys...I feel your fears cos if didn't have them, you wouldn't be human. But, calm down. It will be alright.
@bro theo thanks for the elaborate explanation but the question now is dat the slot for merit and dat of top officials which has a higher percentage and if dat be the case the quota system stuff wil not be follwed cos some top officials can present people of the same state thereby not going the way of fcc or wat do u think?
That is y there seems to be an impasse. Madam was removed b'cos she fell short of fcc. Even Oga (who is frm d middle belt) did nt add much of his own ppl to avoid stepping on toes. Dats y he was nt hapi wt madam & she has to go. She was nt sacked anyway, bt she was redeployed. Oga is careful bcos he does not belong to d majority - anytn can happen n no one wants to loose his head. Dats y it is smhow difficult 4 any staff of DPR to gaurantee u a place. Even my source who is privileged to be close to d whole tn told me dat he can't even help dat I should just be prayerful. Although an additional budget was approved last month to make up for d extra slot for d powers dat be, yet d delay still persists. D initial plan was to conclude d recruitment in June so dat DPR can then move to its new hqtr in Abuja b4 d end of July, bt as we can see, only God knows if it will still b possible. D feeling is dat d list will b out b4 this month if d impending NCL minimum wage strike does nt pospone it indefinitely. It is a funny country wt a lot happening behind d scene. Hence it is important to depend absolutely on God 4 anyone to make it. Prayer answereth all tns and remember to be hapi...For "the joy of d lord is our strength"...Jesus is lord.
newbie, thanks for dt.. Thae joy of the lord sholud be our strength no mata wht.................. He is the doer of all tins...
na real waah.why is this country so messed up like this. first it was 250 to be taken now only 72 are sure, wat abt the rest?does tht mean tht fcc didnt ratify and approve the list?bcos if thy did, then DPR staffs ought not to tamper with the list from fcc again.nothin seems real again, but God pass them all.
@All please below News from Vanguard. We hope this works out and it is implemented.
Federal Character Principle: Reps move to check lopsided recruitment
July 20, 2011
Politics
*To investigate all appointments from 1999 till date
By EMMAN OVUAKPORIE
MEMBERS of the House of Representatives, last week, vowed to correct all abnormalities in the recruitment of all Federal Government owned organizations since 1999 till date to check lopsidedness in administrative and political appointments.
It was also resolved that once the committee on the Federal Character Commission (FCC) is constituted, its first primary assignment would be to ensure that a investigation is carried out within four weeks to ascertain the level of nepotism being perpetrated by Chief Executives of Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) of Government.
The FCC was primarily designed to monitor recruitment of personnel, both administrative and political, right the wrongs of the past and shape present and future appointments.
The lawmakers’ decision to investigate the implementation of the Federal Character Principle was a fallout of a motion sponsored by Ahmed Idris. The legislator lamented that provisions of sections 14(3,4) and 153(1) of the 1999 Constitution as they relate to federal character had been severally abused by government MDAs.
Idris said the continuous abuse of the principle had led to “an uneven distribution of infrastructure development, marginalisation, lopsidedness and imbalance in the composition of government at most levels in the ministries and their respective agencies.
Members who spoke on the motion agreed that the issue was a problem that might soon threaten the corporate existence of the country because the lopsidedness was rather on the high side. The motion was seconded by Rep Seconte Davies representing Bonny Degema Federal Constituency of Rivers State.
Rep Idris had pointed out that the lopsidedness was alarming noting that in the Universal Basic Education Commission, for example, while a state has 34 employees some other states have between two to three persons.
Rep John Dyegh, representing Gboko/Tarka Federal Constituency, lamented that the last recruitment of the FRSC was lopsided in Benue where a particular Senatorial Diatrict had 45 people recruited while the other two districts had two each and that the same thing was applicable to the army.
Rep Daniel Rejuvienu (Warri Federal Constituency in Delta State) captured it all saying: “My tribe is a micro minority among the tribes in Delta and the motion on the floor was timely. This aspect of our social life was copiously captured in Section 152[1], [14] and what it says is that there should be equitable distribution of human resource employment in terms of appointment, recruitment and all of that. What that translates to is that every section of this country must be carried along in terms of distribution of power.
As an Itsekiri man I am seriously affected despite the fact that I produce the mainstay of the economy. As we speak now, the Itsekiri race has only five senior police officers not because they did not apply but they were screened out because the man in charge is probably not from the Itsekiri tribe.”
Zakari Mohammed, representing Baraten Kaiama Constituency, however commended the House for the motion but quickly pointed out that “fairness, equity and fairplay should be paramount in the minds of the members because “we represent the interest of well over 250 ethnic groups or nationalities in Nigeria.”
He advised that only men of proven integrity should constitute the Federal Character Committee when it is eventually set up so that the issues would be critically examined to cater for the interests of all nationalities in the country.
At this juncture, Deputy Speaker of the House, Honourable Emeka Ihedioha, who presided the day’s proceedings, said the investigation was not designed to disengage those who were already engaged but to find ways to correct the observed lopsidedness.
Rep Umar Jibril (Lokoja Federal Constituency) noted that recently a commission rented a national stadium that was filled by applicants and probably only 10 percent of the number would be employed because the Chief Executive would appropriate majority of the applicants from his locality.
Rep Chineye Ike, Isialangwa Federal constituency, did not mince words when she said for the past 10 years “all we have been doing is to lament the lopsidedness. A robust oversight function should be carried out in terms of appointments on how to correct the mistakes and this time we should be more practical.”
This practicality is what all Nigerians are clamouring for. If 36 good heads must be employed, it should be equitably distributed to reflect the 36 states of the federation but a situation whereby 147 people from a particular Local Government are employed because the Chief Executive of that locality heads a commission or department does not reflect true federalism.
The Deputy Speaker said it all when he declared that the country had enough good heads in all the states of the federation and that the committee once constituted should ensure that there is equitable spread in all recruitments henceforth.
you must understand dat the 250 was made up of both merit n non-merit. Pls don't conclude dat d overall merit is 72 b'cos it is more dan dat. Some states had up to 3 or 4 especially those ones wt high slot frm fcc n no much intruders. If u did very well in d interview, then there is notin to fear. Just hv faith... It is well!
In all this...
All I can say is that it is well!
hmmmm...na prayer oo! But, still relax brothers and sisters. Relax!
this point, I will to submit that With God, all things are possible and that all is indeed well.
@forumites, let's relax, God is in control. Surely HIS plans towards us are of good and not of evil, to give us an expected end.
its is the overall that is 250.since after the vettin of the quoter for states ,the list is yet to rich fcc.y the woman bahaves in such way?.quite right delta is the least quota base on whta i saw thenn followed by rivers, cos delta has 80 existin staff then rivers has 50.isaw imo 5 ,lagos 5 bayelsa 9 yobe 8 etc.lets be prayerful
@kokoroko now ur talking.so no matter wht thy do fcc could still reject their list until it is ok.thks for the clarification. @bro theo i didnt conclude,i only asked a question which u answerd thks for the clarification also.
@debrown...thanks for the briefing........I see hope in this recruitment...hopefully Naija shall be great
they said slow and steady win the race.all speculations and "my reliable source" quotes is nearly to an end.infact those whose names manage to be in the list should thank God and those whose names are not ther shold pray togod to givethem better one, ameen.just CONFIRM FROM FCC THE LIST IS CURRENTLY THERE FOR RATIFICATION. this is not a hearsay please.there will be forwarded back to dpr for distribution of letters to lucky ones.
@kokoroko,thanks very much for the update. But the problm is how soon will the list be forwarded to DPR?
