The head of Abuja office of the Department of Petroleum Resources (DPR), Mr Anthony Nwaokagbara, was among the victims of the Sunday plane crash in Lagos. Also, Dr Emmanuel Asuquo Obot, Executive Director of the Nigerian Conservation Foundation, was among the victims.
OBOT was a PhD (Botany) holder with main areas of work on Biodiversity Conservation, Biodiversity Related Research, Project management, Sustainable Development, Forest Resources Policy, among other studies.
@All: With this announcement, I buried all the insults poured by ABCD and I urge all of us to converge with NNPC hopefuls in black T-shirts to condole Madam Minister on the lost of DPR/NNPC staffs and fire her with demand of our letters either on Thursday or Monday as agreed, I promised to wear a Nija Delta hat with SAKABU inscription on that protest day. Am just by the side of a top shot in NNPC and he appreciates our effort and happy with what we are pushing, he urge us to do it very very soon because he said madam minister is too SELFISH!
hey..there are different types of protest.
unilag already has a name and number.[
we dont even know how many will turn up for the protest
QUOTE=DivineEnigma;624452]I am glad to see that at last the house is warming up to a suggestion I made here, just see how the unilag students got their voices heard almost immediately after the pronouncement, like someone once said on this thread, the world is now a social village and the social media has being used to achieve a lot, I think we lingered too long but better late than never, I support the motion for concurrent peaceful protest, abj,ph and lag if possible.let's get really serious about this and start suggesting time, assembly point e.t.c[/QUOTE]
U guys shouldn't worry abt ABCD123,i Position Tight for the guy.
Where him dey self?
Welcome, Sakabu, we go pour champaign cuz we must win this battle
the lord is good all the time we are getting there
ood day All,
Few Suggestions
1. Invite National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) because this issue indirectly affects them. They will soon be graduating and if this trend continues it will also affect them. We ca invite the various chapter from different zones.
2.We all dress uniformly i.e black trousers, jeans and skirts for ladies and white top as suggested by bravejustice.
3.We invite PENGASAN to intervene by inscribing on our placards if we consider it necessary.
4.We also invite NASS Speaker to intervene by also inscribing on the placard if we consider it necessary.
Finally i believe God who does not sleep will go ahead and make a potent case and have the issue resolved ASAP with both NNPC and DPR hopefuls obtaining their offer letters within the shortest possible time.
Remain Blessed All
ALL FOR ONE AND ONE FOR ALL
GODS SPEED AND FAVOR GO WITH US
I shall sing of the wndrfl Glory of the most high.. Not weed
Sakubu, Nna.. How ur people for village..
Aint u telling ur boyz to shine thier shoes and dress well with sharply ironed out suits for the protest.?? Haba bros.. Think again.
@ABCD123,dats why we re called HOPEFULS...Our aim is to give n receive encouraging news. If u aint a hopeful why were u disturbing me with calls to confirm my facts wen i posted dat letters will be rolling on 1st of April?
U even told me dat ur life and dat of ur entire families depends on the job...Kai ABCD123,u get wahala.I will soon post ur no here.
Wat happened to ur the other accounts u created???
I don't think it will be wise to involve NANS becos of their approach to protest is not the peaceful type. the first thing we should think of 4 this protest to be successful is involving the media. there should media coverage for the protest in order 4 nigerians know to about the NNPC and DPR recruitment scam
Pls house, lets reason together, make una forget abt dix ABCD guy. when, date and time are we meeting in NNPC tower? I was there on Monday bt nothing was happening. Pls house, i'm in Abuja make una talk
Monday 8am...Total Filling, Abuja.
Am so happy dat our Generals are back...
Long Live Gen DEBROWN n SAKABU!!!
@ABCD123, pls face me and leave our generals...They dnt even reply ur comments,ye u re facing them.
If u re man enough, face me...I undrstand dat u re in Delta, let's DIG it 1on1 on Monday in PH during the protest.
MUNTULA!!! Hahahaha!!!!
The reason why ABCD123 is still relevant is because people respond to his postings. if we can ignore him and his postings he will get tired of it.
@all, Here is a suggestion pls.In order to get the right media attention that this protest deserves, we should do a press briefing in Abuja on sunday afternoon, may be 2'o'clock.I know an Editor who can put guys (journalists/correspondents) from different media houses together 4 a press briefing. We can't however guarantee they will all attend d confab 4 free. But we could rub minds on how to address that issue.I was advised that It can be arranged. We don't need to register as a group in order to do this. It's a protest group, not some kind of trade union. We can have our maiden press briefing even in the parlour of one of us in Abuja if we cannot secure a public venue. No big deal.If you think this is a good idea, let's hear your suggestions and if we are in agreement to proceed with it, then you can contact me via private mail (i.e those in Abuja) and I will give you the details of who to contact. Thanks in advance for your suggestions.
@Debrown, your suggestion is perfect but since you already know an Editor that can arrange the journalists, why dont we start from there, dont you think that giving the contacts to those hopefuls that stay in Abuja for them to start a fresh relationship/negotiation will slow down the whole process? Its sunday we are talking about here. Thats d way I see it o
@arabic4real, thanks for your response/contribution. I have already done my part and the person is willing/happy to advise on how to successful host the press briefing. He will do his part of inviting his colleagues, what we need is volunteers from our side who will meet with the person face to face and decide on the venue, coordinate the meeting, attend and also speak/read out our statement starting from a condolence message as suggested by some us. I am currently in Lagos.
Waiting for MOnday, 8am....
Those in Lagos, Please contact DEBROWN and arrange for the presss conference, just appear with fake names
I believe Monday 8am is unanimously agreed? someone asked for dress code? I noticed the strong point of the intended rally so far has been the refusal of NNPC to complete the process but i suggest we DPR hopefuls also try as much as possible to get our point across that to the best of our knowledge our recruitment has been concluded an approved by FCC but yet no further step has been taken in calling us for training for over 6 months.
I shall be there Online.
Meanwhile..
My suits and well polish out shoes are ready for the events.
This wndrful!
dear hopeful,i have been trying to access our zeal on this issue.we need to be very serious this protest issue.for this to succeed we have to map out some issues.
1- in every issue that need to be organise,we must have a leader,in this our case we must have leaders,my comrades!!!.
2-fixing date is very vital in his issue, because some people said thursday others said monday, lets fix MONDAY.
3-we need to have speakers at the venue that can speak with media and present our case of this NNPC/DPR.we should make a proper arrangement not just to be talking online without action, action speak louder than voice.
4-our number matters alot at that venue, because it will send a very strong signal more especially in abuja because madam MPR is the problem more especially DPR,the director is ever ready to release letters as said during budget defence but when it comes to madam minister's turn on why the budget more recurrent, her response was because of an ANTICIPATED RECRUITMENT,why anticipated when it was done.but the director said bcause of 250 that were employed and waiting for appointment letters.so u can decode what i mean.enlightment campaign is needed massively because some peole are not aware.some hopfuls dont know naijahotjobs, social media is a good place,BEBRIEF YOU are the abuja leader we have asign this leadership to you please so lets be specific in date, contact police though police may notified them of our intention that they may try to do something b4 the protest, so we have to come to abuja.a stitch in time saves nine.
5-lets organise semoultaneously in ABUJA,PH, LAGOS AND ANY OTHER STATE .we have to be serious about this protest hopefuls because we have been taken for granted for long in this country.AS SHE WAS DISTUBING HENRY OKAR FOR HER MINISTERIAL JOB AT MPR WITHOUT BREATHING SPACE TO ASSIST HER,WE TO WILL NEVER GIVE HER A BREATHING SPACE.
6-in abuja we meet at total filling station opposite NNPC and address media
7-in lagos lets move to DPR head office kofo abayomi VI
WE HAVE DISCUSS ENOUGH,ITS TIME FOR ACTION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
SAKABU YOU ARE WELCME BACK,WERE DO YOU STAY???
JESUS ARMY WERE DO U STAY????
4GIVE WERE DO U STAY????
KAFOX
DENISBERG

LETS ACT ENOUGH OF TALKS PLS.
So where is the Lagos venue?
Anytn worth doings is worth doing well! Those of us who hv ppl up there that we trust should reach out to them for advice on logistics and support as regards the peaceful protest. How una see am?
guys una weldone where be d place for lagos but we need to take advise from people make dey work for DPR whether we dey the right track make we no go put sand for our garri.
the lord is good all the time.
@clemangelus, I can assure you that we are on the right track. The Publication has been forwarded to a powerful group in DPR, Cos they have a forum on BB. Am sure the info is now everywhere in DPR.Do you know that those recruited by dpr in 2004 were not promoted for a long time and denied a lot of stuff. They formed a pressure group and protested. And Mgt was forced to take action.I have already worked on making the publication get to the current dpr PENGASSAN chairman. Am sure when it gets to him they will inform mgt and staff that their name is in the public eye again. And questions will arise as to wat mgt is doing with the budget for recruitment. On a personal note, I do not believe the non-release of our letters is Dpr Mgnt's fault. I believe the current Director and his Mgnt team would want to issue out our letters because a major problem in DPR now is lack of manpower to complement the current staff strength. The delay in releasing our offer letters is coming from the MPR hqtrs. Please don't panic, DPR will definitely recruit us because we are really needed on board.
@debrown all I can say is God Bless u!......I Know Godwilling the 250 Names before madam Minister shall soon b employed........let's see how Monday goes after the peaceful protest, and pls those in lagos can go to DPR Head Office @ VI
People, I feel we should also take our protest to the Ministry of Petroleum Resources. You know that Woman- madam minister from what we understand, is the person in the way of our job. And her office is actually at the Ministry (correct me if I'm wrong).
Monday 11th June 2012.....prayerz ppl!
I can't wait to flag up my banner!!!! OCCUPY NNPC!!!!
e there early..(8am)
-Dont disclose your name
