Pls some one help. For phd applicants on section 4 under institution of study it says "Unless there is at least one supporting statement from a UK Supervisor, your application will not be considered" do I need to get this statement my self or will CSC contact them for the statement? Please ASAP

D interview begins on 5th Dec to 9th. Its going to be two zones a day. Mine is on 6th, i.e North-EAST ND SOUTHWEST for that day. All candidates must be present at Arewa suites and hotels on dat 5th. All d best.

D deadline for completing the forms on the EAS as given by the FME was 20th Nov. 2011. But yu can still try yr luck. I think its for anyone who has a first class or second class irrespective of wether u hav Msc or not. Am currently doin ma msc but I still applied.
Guys must the references and the supporting statement be submitted b4 the d deadline by d referees and supervisors or can they submit at their own pace. And which is the actual deadline 20 th nov or 7 th dec. And please some one details of the interviews here ASAP
@Bigger boy- Yes i guess one needs to have the references before the interviews. Especially since on of the required documents is a proof that all one's 3 referees have returned the references. Hence, the deadline from ministry of education's fsb is the 20th November but i reckon that if your referees can still comment before your accreditation date- you should be alright.
Kainos pls how can u provide proof of reference, on the form print out there is no indication of whether or not the references have returned, but there is indications For the supporting statement from the potential supervisors. So u see, could u clarify.
And pls could u give me details of all the required documents, and dates of the accreditation

I think you should have a separate proposal at hand. Believe me, 500 words is no proposal. I really suffered to summarize mine to 500 words. As for admission, I only have that for 2011/2012 session which I have now deferred, but haven't gotten the new one that reads 2012/2013 session. I guess it will suffice. Having supervisor(s) should also suffice, cos that's what eventually guarantees an admission to the particular university you've chosen
Please house can someone give me the timetable for the interview coming up next week? How it will take place. When is Southeast and Southwest doing theirs please? I need urgent reply to know whether to attend as I will be coming from Lagos leaving work.
As for the Research proposal, you need to summarize it as much as you can, possibly that 500 words. Nobody has the time to start reading through your proposal, u just give the basic things in the project. Your methodology can take a single or double lines, u don't need details of as many applications are on the waiting. I have friend that won the award with the research proposal being limited only to 400 and something.

please, does any one know if The Commission in Nigeria/our nominating agency will require candidates to undertake the IELTS English language test as a condition of eligibility. Does this requirement apply to us?
@max...-southwest's accreditation is on monday while d interview is on tuesday.Southeast's accreditation is on tuesday & interview on wednesday.@janey-Nope, dnt fink so.it only says that after being nominated candidates might have to take additional english tests.So peeps what are we expecting to have as questions? Does any one know d criteria 4 grading etc?
I think most grade comes from the completeness of your form and credentials, I heard the questioning are random and some time on currentnaffairs,

housemates, this is not to discourage anyone about the commonwealth scholarship. in 2009 i was there live at abuja, did the interview but we were abadoned after they gave us hope that the list of the shortlisted candidates will be out after the interview and alias i and 7 of my friends slept at millenium park as we couldn't go home after they kept us waiting. That was the end of the story. if you are applying for PhD and got your master abroad, i think you have a greater chance as many dont often go for the PhD and once you are shortlisted by them, you are set for UK. i am saying from my one year experience, and my friends two years experience with CSC, Abuja especially the federal scholarship board. but thank God i am doing my Master abroad now after two years experience in Esso mobil postgraduate scholarship, two years experience in PTDF and one year experience with commonwealth scholarship and one year with NDDC.
keep your hopes alive, it the Lord that decide when your time comes.

The Federal Scholarship Board invites all candidates who had successfully completed the Electronic Application System (EAS), and fulfilled all necessary requirements stipulated in our earlier advertorials, to attend an interview as per the interview schedule below. wow, does it then mean that those who submitted after Nov 20th shouldnt bother going for the interview at Abuja at all or what? All this while, I thought the deadline for submission was 7th Dec.. Please, house, what is your advice?

oh, and one more question, are the geo-political zones in terms of one"s origin or residence?
It doesn't matter when you submitted. as long as you are able to get in all your references before the interview. even those that submitted December where at the accreditation yesterday. Firstly, we were all asked to go to the Fed High Court, Maitama, to get all our documents accredited.
The evidence of submission of three references is just the first page you get when you log into your csc eas portal, which shows all 3 references submitted. The academic transcripts just the originals and photocopies of your transcripts.
The geo-political zones are in terms or state of origin, and not state of residence.

Ok everyone the interview is over, how soon should we expect a feedback and how will it be communicated to us? Share experience from last year.
Called d FS Board but was told I should expect to hear from CSC between now and August next year. That if I dont hear from them during this period, it means I have not been sucessful.
Ol boy this guys don send out rejection letters o. Upon all my wahala on the whole process. I suspect it's bcoz of my phd application in progress. God dey sha.
Serious? When? Is it frm FSB or commonwealth. I Was shortlisted by FSB and called to submit my original transcript which I did on monday 19 dec 2011. But I havnt recieved a mail from them.
