Re: Chevron calling for aptitude test (facilities engineer, graduate level)
For those yet that haven't received the invite for the FE position all I can say is that life goes on, not everyone was bound to be called [the cut-off might have been very high so if you didn't get called it doesn't mean you are not good]. More opportunities still to come, with the gathered experience from writing the Dragnet test at least you are in a better position to do better next time.
For those wondering how those that passed the Dragnet test made it, many ppl have already contributed as regards that but I guess I can re-emphasize that you don't need to see the questions before hand to make it through. As long as you already know the GSE format you are good to go. All you need to do is PREPARE which involves going through lots of practice questions. IMPROVE on your weaknesses [which is usually verbal for engineers], don't feel you have no business with Verbal Reasoning coz u r an Engr. Finally, during the test itself, be CONFIDENT and stay FOCUSED on the test at hand forgetting any previous information you heard or saw and try to tackle the problem that lies before you. If you have written a Dragnet test before then that should help in letting you know how to MANAGE YOUR TIME during the test, that's of utmost importance...

Re: Chevron calling for aptitude test (facilities engineer, graduate level)
For FE: Instrumentation and Control read the book FUNDAMENTALS OF INDUSTRIAL INSTRUMENTATION AND CONTROL. It's 323 pages. About 6MB. I don't think it can be uploaded here because of the size.
-
Yes. Do you have any idea of what to expect and materials to use for preparing for the skills test?
Please anyone with useful info should come to our aid.
-
Sorry, I thought I quoted someone earlier. The position is FE(reliability/subsea/mechanical). Thanks.

Re: Chevron calling for aptitude test (facilities engineer, graduate level)
It will be good if the Petroleum Engineers and Earth Scientists based in UK that took part in the skills test to inform us of how they changed their venue from NG to UK.
All my efforts to reach the contact provided in the invitation is currently void.

If you've sent an email to the HR contact in the email you received, you would probably get some feedback sometime tomorrow.

Thanks for that material. It's really concise. For those for chemical/process, i recommend you go through it. Also you could also go through the other two volumes of the book- the ones on Themodynamics and Heat. Unfortunately, can't upload them, but you can use these links below.

Re: Chevron calling for aptitude test (facilities engineer, graduate level)
As an antidote for chem/process Engrg skill test gain mastery of d ffing in a formular/data sheets:
1. How to apply a formular
2. How to read tables/charts
3. How to convert btw units e.g pressure(kPa, mmHg, Torr), temperature(Celcius, Kelvin, Rankine, Farenheit) volume(Litre,)
flowrates(), mass(kg,lb), length(in,ft,m,cm, mm), time(sec, min, hr, dy, yr)
4. How to do calculations using consistent units.
5. How to apply common industry based equations.
6. How to work using field units(FPS) to report answers.
7. How to work in an OPEN BOOK condition; given datasheet, formular sheet, tables, charts.
4.

Take a bus going to ajah. Tell the conductor to stop you at new road bus stop. Look opposite the New Road Bus Stop, you would see a catholic church (SS Philip & James). Behind the catholic church is where Hotel Bellisimo is located.
The most important thing is to ensure you are stopped at New Road Bus Stop. From there, its pretty easy to located the hotel.
