Re: 2012 ExxonMobil Engineering Recruitment (Trainee and Experienced Professionals)
What happens guys to a very brilliant fellow, who had one of the best WASSCE result in the country and because of his performance in a national competition was given a scholarship to the University. This fellow was initially in the 1st class range, but because of some things that happened in a single year where he carried over more 4 courses(which he did not write by the way), he ended up with a 2.2(actually 3.4..). He takes responsibility for what happened since he believes that he should still have done better even after that unfortunate year. When does the guilt stop? And why does society continue to 'punish' an individual for a mistake at a stage in his life while completely forgetting his past achievements and his potential? This fellow was not shortlisted in Shell process recently apparently because he didnt have a 2.1, and he might also not be 'considered' for Exxonmobil probably for similar reasons. He needs some advice

Guy I do feel for your frnd, but that's world for you, I don't want to knw wat really happend in school, but the best thing he can do for himsef now is to go for masters bcos most of this multinationals attach so much value to 2:1. I wish him best of luck. He can as well look for smtin to do while he waits for his masters.

u said ur frnd wasnt shortlisted in the shell process - is it the shell 2011 or 2012 process?
My advice for ur frnd is to keep searching. There are some multinational companies that accept 2:2. He should also apply for masters preferrably overseas.

The boss himself, I was trying to show that Naija grading us over a 5-point system, but I ended up adding more ambiguity to the stuff
Thanks for clarifying further

It is this year's 2012 Shell Recriutment. Should he still apply to this exxonmobil placement?
Do any of you know whether one can apply for masters scholaship abroad with 2.2?

Yeah apart from imperial college and UCL others in UK accept 2:2 he can giv it a trail, lots of scholarships sha, only if he can write GRE, GMAT and toefl. You as well 4get schools in UK and look towards Middle east, or other european countries like Dutch, begium, norway, spain, france, portugal lots of scholarships in these countries. 1 luv bros

exxonmobil accepts min. of 2.1 but tell ur frnd to still submit his application. Anything can happen. For overseas scholarships, forget abt UK, let him focus on US sch's. Several univ's in US offer scholarships and research/teaching assistantships which wil cover full tuition and u wil also receive monthly stipends. These grants are awarded based on ur GRE or GMAT performance. If ur frnd is an eng or science student, he should take the GRE. Tel him to apply to sch's like George Washington Univ, Univ of Colorado, Louisiana State Univ, and more.

Re: 2012 ExxonMobil Engineering Recruitment (Trainee and Experienced Professionals)
Hey guys. I hear some people say Exxon have not done this since 2009. Is this kinda different from the Drilling Supervisor application some of us wrote a test for last October? I thought that was for fresh graduates too. What exactly is the difference with this one? Thanks fellas...
-
Re: 2012 ExxonMobil Engineering Recruitment (Trainee and Experienced Professionals)
Oh pls dont flog yourself. If you selected 2012 Engineering and submitted your CV, if you fit the job description will will be invited for the test. You really can fit into the position of an engineer? Well they dont think so, that is why it is graduate engineer trainee.
