Almost all aptitude tests are designed to be relatively numerically convenient. Meaning that the figures are quite readily divisible and also 4 quick multiplicatns. For example if u did recent Shell test, the invitation email sent included the words 'You may use a calculator'.
However, most tyms non-scientific calculators are still provided because of the time constraint.
Shl test format allows 4 calculators (non scientific) just as dragnet. But for some company tests, the use of a scientific calculator is inevitable. However those are mainly science-based or eng'g-based tests and may not be lumped into the same category as conventional aptitude tests.
Long and short is that you can actually solve those problems without a calculator... Ps: Speaking 4rm experience...lol
