Vacancy for the role of a chief cost accountant

A Manufacturing company in Abuja requires the services of aChief Cost Accountant for immediate employment. The ideal candidate must have:

Qualifications:

• Minimum BSc/HND in Accounting or Related field.
• Membership /Certificate of professional bodies such as CIMA, ICAN & ACCA
• Minimum of 7 years requisite work experience in costing of input and rawmaterials at Managerial level.

Job Responsibilities:

• Handle all costing and inventory records, reviewing, analyzing inventorymovement transaction.
• Verifies all manufacturing variances, prepare costing reports, calculateproducts costing, and prepare manufacturing costs full year forecasting.
• Work closely with production and inventory controls.
Allocate all cost to each product/production lineaccurately.
• Prepare a monthly product-costing schedule and cost analysis.
• Checking data entry for raw materials and production tooling and consumableissued to the production line.
• Reconciling related ledger accounts in financial statements (P&L andBalance Sheet)

Liaise with both internal and external auditors to meetinformation and reporting requirement which is relevant to inventory.
• Coordination with various departments for costing information incl. Physicalstock count.
• Providing Management with reports specifying and comparing factors affectingprices and profitability of products or services.
• Reconciles finished goods inventories.

Skills:

• Must have strong cost systems and auditing background with excellent analyticalskills; sound understanding of accounting principles.
• Ability to work under pressure.
• Good problem solving skills.
• Ability to use Microsoft office and accounting software packages.
• Ability to accurately prepare daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annualreports and audits.
