Vacancy for a Legal Officer (Credit)

AB Microfinance Bank Nigeria Limited is a newly established Microfinance Bank with its Head office situated at Ikeja, Lagos. It is a member of an International network of microfinance banks providing world class banking services to micro, small and medium enterprises and private individuals in Africa and Asia and rapidly spreading out to other continents across the globe.

The Position: Legal Officer (Credit)

Main Responsibilities:

? Working under the bank’s credit department and monitoring clients’ repayments
? Taking steps to enforce the recovery of overdue loans and negotiate settlements of disputes between loan clients and the bank
? Liaise with the law enforcement and regulatory agencies on behalf of the bank on difficult credit cases, including preparing and presenting petitions, initiating legal proceedings and representing the bank in court
? Responsible for confiscation of pledged collateral items of loan defaulters
? Ensuring that credit contracts are legalized and endorsed at the court of law
? Monitoring changes in relevant legislation and the regulatory environment, and taking appropriate action

Requirements:

? L.L.B and B.L
? At least two years post call and must have completed NYSC
? Knowledge of legal and regulatory framework of credit/loan operation
? Working experience in debt recovery and credit management
? Experience in Microfinance Banking is an added advantage
? Strong communication skills
? High level of initiative and self-organization
