Position Title: Credit Control Officer
Reporting To: Finance Manager
Department: Finance
Purpose : To develop, implement and maintain an effective and professional credit control system for the company group.
• Review/Setup the company credit control procedure and develop and implement enhancements where required.
• To manage the outstanding sales balances falling due and contact customers before the balances become overdue to confirm payments.
• Set and monitor credit limits.
• Assist in developing and implementing a Direct Debit payment system for clients where and when necessary
• Where required initiate proceedings to ensure outstanding debts are bought to a satisfactory conclusion.
• To keep the company up to date with new credit management procedures and techniques.
• To achieve the monthly cash-collection targets
• Ensure that appropriate telephone contact is made at the earliest possible
• stage on overdue debts, in accordance with the Credit Control timetable
• Answer queries and enquiries from customers within your section of accounts.
• Ensure that payments are correctly allocated, to the appropriate account and against the appropriate invoice(s).
• Check reminder letters for 100% accuracy and appropriateness before sending.
• Be aware of duties performed by other team members to enable adequate cover to be provided at all times of holiday/absence
• Any other duties as may be assigned by then Finance manager that is in accordance with your job description and your field of work

Skills / Attributes Required
• Able to demonstrate experience within Credit Control.
• Experience of providing Credit Control to organisations with a turnover in excess of N300m.
• Computer literate with knowledge of Sage or similar accounting package.
• Possess a good understanding of MsOffice package (Word, Excel, MsAccess)
• Excellent communication skills are essential.
Qualification:

Bsc in Credit Management, Business Administration, Business Law and related subjects
Minimum of second class lower
Must not be above than 27years on next birthday
