Job Description

• Assist the Business Unit Head and SORO to implement an effective Operational Risk Management Assurance Framework (ORMAF) within the business unit to ensure operational risks and controls are being managed appropriately at the business unit level in a proactive, risk based and disciplined manner to meet external, internal and regulatory requirements.
• Assist the Functional SOROs in governance oversight over Product / business operational risk management from an end-to-end basis based on CB Process Governance structure
• As the first line of assurance, manage and lead Responsible Person (RP) resources to implement ORMAF across the business unit, ensure appropriateness of staff filling the RP roles, execute the first line self assessment model, report on and analyze operational risks profile to BORG and Group CB.

Key Roles & Responsibilities
Implement & Monitor ORMAF

• Ensure adherence to the ORMAF in the identification, assessment, mitigation and control and monitoring of risk. Ensure sufficient traction and follow through management actions to mitigate identified operational risks exposure.
• Ensure that relevant Group and Business policies are effectively embedded within business unit. Facilitate the implementation of key control standards (KCS), related key control assessment (KCSA), key risk indicators (KRI) and monitoring plans for compliance and operational risk management.
• Ensure consistent deployment and execution of KCS, KCSA and KRI within the Business unit.
• Ensure losses, risk events, policy deviations, KCSA & KRI exceptions are recorded, reviewed and reported. Engage appropriate stakeholders to ensure timely remedial actions and escalation of situations that pose significant risk.
• Assist Business Unit Head and SORO in the implementation of OR framework or other relevant OR initiatives.

Exposure Review / Investigation

• Participate in the investigation / review of negative operational risk exposure (internal and external) as it arises
• Value-add to the business unit by identifying new, thematic and developing risks, providing operational risk advice through ORMAF and ad hoc reviews (accountability review, Lessons learnt review, Process / Control reviews) at the unit level or participating in reviews driven by the Group Business level based on thematic issues using forward looking based programmes.

Design and Setup

• Assist in identifying risks in product process changes.
• Ensure that the operational risk implications of changes (Product Approval Document) are anticipated and clearly signalled to appropriate stakeholders.
• Escalate to appropriate stakeholders when operational risks threaten to breach tolerances.

Engaging the Business

• As a key contributor in the monthly BORC meetings, to review and monitor OR Profile and exposure of the business unit.
• Prepare Value Stream OR profile with appropriate analysis, relevant loss and risk reporting for the BORC, CORC, CB Group PGC.
• Ensure timely, accurate submission of risk information to Country SORO and Functional SORO.
• Escalate material and significant risk/loss events to Group CBOR immediately.
• Manage Responsible Persons (RP) to ensure adequate staffing and implementation of 1st line controls and assurance.
• Facilitate the socialisation of audit / control issues in country CB.

Others

• Coordinate training efforts to promote risk management and compliance culture within the Business unit. Ensure gaps are identified and staffs are suitably trained on operational risk and compliance.
• Ensure proper follow up of issues raised by CORAM and Group Internal Audit.
• Ensure risk and loss information are inputted into Phoenix, and escalation where action is not taken.

I'm a pundit of banking system and I hold SCB in high esteem until recently, and d reason is dat I applied 2 SCB and took d online talent assessment a couple of months ago and performed brilliantly.A member of your Organization in the talent acquisition team contacted me that I did well in the exam but d position i applied 4 has been filled.
tantamount,I did request to b given any other relevant position available and she replied dat i should give them countries in which i do not require a work permit,bcos dey don't sponsor work permit.After my reply to her last month she has not replied me..I'm quite apprehensive and confused.I wouldn't mind your kind assistance in my precarious situation.

No I do not work for any of "these companies" (hopefully someday!!!). Most of the post I put on the forum are random checks on companies websites or Guardian newspaper.

How long does it take to hear from SCB if one passed the online talent test.

If you wait and hear nothing from them after 2 weeks from passing the online test(s), then try to contact them. There are still a couple of people that also passed the online test(s), but never got called afterwards. Those people are still waiting for the next phase of the selection process even as we speak. Hope this answers your questions.
