Job Title: VAS Planning Senior Engineer

Division: Information Systems
Reporting To: VAS Planning Manager
Location: Lagos

Job Description

• Supervise the definition of an optimal network topology for the VAS platforms (e.g. SMSC, VMS, , RBT, EIR, USSD, etc) for deployment of Value Added service to give MTNN competitive advantage
• Coordinate and conduct analysis of network model outputs and traffic patterns to evaluate model and proffer solution if necessary within the VAS & Data environment
• Supervise the design and plan the evolution of Value Added Services, such as, but not limited to, messaging (Voicemail & SMS), value propositions, other Third Party applications and services
• Conduct technical feasibility studies for new products and services and produce feasibility report
• Supervise and execute prompt provisioning of network capacity for all the VAS network elements, features, protocols
• Participate in cross functional meetings with key stakeholders involved in the development and deployment of new Value Added Services in order to define best solutions for new products and services
• Meet with vendors on new market releases and technology upgrade path to ensure quick deployment of new and innovative products/services
• Ensure maintenance of defined network measurement and optimization parameters for the VAS platforms
• Lead the design and dimensioning of the VAS network as well as new products and services to support the marketing product
• Supervise the planning , design and implementation of future Prepaid products
• Supervise the planning and design of the network architecture to optimally serve the growth of the VAS network in terms of traffic, subscribers and value added service capacity
• Ensure production of all necessary documentation inc Functional and Technical Specification documents for new products and services
• Ensure maintenance of define network modeling and traffic analysis tools for proper traffic trending and analysis within the VAS environment

Requirements

• A Bachelors Degree in Electrical/Electronics or Computer Engineering
• Vast Knowledge of signaling systems C7, ISUP, MAP, SMPP, WAP, XML, HTTP etc
• Experience with Statistics models and trending using Analytic/Modeling tools
• 4+ years of experience in cellular industry, with focus on VAS
• Experience with GSM, TDMA, CDMA, 2.5/3G networks.
• Technical experience in planning, design and working with SMSC, VMS, RBT and other VAS platforms
• Vast experience in new products and services development and a good understanding of Product Development Life Cycle
