Management Accountant

Due to expansion, a relatively young construction/quarrying company seeks an experienced Management Accountant with the desire to get into a business and help drive profitability, costing and analysis and establish controls. This role will be responsible assessing the profitability of the different production/operational units, reporting to Executive Management on the performance of each unit and providing quality financial, commercial and budgetary information.

The role will take responsibility for the day to day running of the finance function and will supervise a number of accounts staff. It will encompass preparation of monthly management accounts for the Management Team, management of cash/working capital in the business, oversee the payroll, insurance and liaise with auditors and prepare annual accounts and ad hoc financial analysis. Pivotal to this role is also the production of budgets and forecasts, cash flow forecasting, and variance and trend analysis.

The successful candidate will be a qualified accountant with sound degree in accounting, minimum of 5 years proven experience in management accounting and strong commercial skills. Also required is the ability to work closely with non-financial managers to analyze costing, generate forecasts and support them to drive performance.
