Import-export Specialist

JOB DUTIES
> You will document shipments to ensure that they are in compliance with customs rules and regulations.
> Counsel clients on matters like tariffs, insurance, and quotas.
> You categorize shipments according to a tariff coding system, also requires consulting with customs agents to ease passage of shipments through customs.
> You will track the location of the shipment: prepare goods for shipment, using the best, most economical packaging.
> Transportation, warehousing, or distribution of goods may also be part of the job duty.
> Determine how much insurance to take out on the shipment.
> Incorporate process related to reviewing and maintaining all shipping records and verify charges are correct.
> Maintain relationships with our Customs Broker and Freight Forwarders to improve customer service activities to our customers.
> Negotiate shipping rates and submit to Branch Manager for approval when necessary to be competitive.
> Develops methods and procedures for transportation of commodities for designated shippers from local or offshore locations to warehouses, other storage facilities or final consignee locations.
> Prepare timely management information and reports as specified and requested by Managing Director.
> Establish and maintain all necessary procedures to assure a clean, properly organized, safe and healthy environment for all personnel.
> Maintain courteous, prompt and efficient customer relations.
> Oversee and complete accurate billing to clients based on pricing established with the clients while ensuring accurate costs and profits are maintained.
JOB REQUIREMENT
> Minimum on OND in Business Administration
> Minimum of 2 years of experience in Import/Export
> Ability to make decisions is essential.
