Our client, as part of the initiatives to achieve improving its service quality and re-positioning in the industry seeks to recruit focused energetic, results-oriented and suitably qualified professionals to fill the following positions in its composite insurance subsidiary:

MANAGING DIRECTOR/CEO

Reporting to the Board of the insurance company, the successful candidate will serve as the principal strategy and business development executive of the company. He/she will be responsible for developing, implementing and managing short, medium and long-term strategies that will ensure the continued growth and profitability of the company in line with the vision and mission of the Group. Specifically, the candidate will:
• Champion the development of the company's corporate strategy, lead and facilitate management team strategic thinking, identify the company's strategic imperatives for growth, facilitate the development of new policy initiatives and provide strategic guidance and oversight to the departmental heads.
• Conduct affairs and activities of the composite company within the framework set by the group's corporate mission, strategic plan and policies.
• Drive the development of annual operating plans including business plans, operational requirements, staffing and budgets to ensure business continuity.
• Plan and lead the execution of market penetrating strategies aimed at attracting new business from the target sectors of the economy in line with the company's strategic policies.
• Plan and lead the execution of customer satisfaction and retention strategies to ensure that the company is the insurer of choice to its clients.
• Provide leadership to employees and motivate them for peak performance and personal growth.
• Develop and direct the implementation of the company's strategic investment plans and programmes; coordinate the positioning of the company for sustainable competitive advantage.
• Take full responsibility and ownership of the company's P&L and growth initiatives, as well as provide periodic updates to the Board on the company's financial performance.
• Co-ordinate the business development initiatives of the company for sustainable growth and development.
• Serve as a key brand icon forth company, creating a niche for it in the insurance sector and consistently reinforcing and promoting the corporate brand value and identity.
Qualifications, Experience and Attributes
• A good first degree in any field of study Q from a reputable tertiary institution. An MBA or any other higher degree will be an added advantage
• Professional qualification(s) in Insurance (e.g. ACII) is essential
• Minimum of fifteen (15) years' post-qualification experience, including five (5) years' experience in the insurance industry and at least five (5) years' experience at executive management level
• Excellent relationship management and strategic networking skills at the highest level in the private and public sectors
• Strong understanding of the application of risk management in the context of insurance businesses
• Sound knowledge of regional and global trends in the insurance industry as well as an understanding of the key macroeconomic drivers
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Excellent leadership, negotiation, marketing, planning and organization skills

HEAD OF MARKETING

Reporting to the Managing Director/CEO, the ideal candidate will have oversight responsibility for the company's marketing activities. He/she will be responsible for the development and implementation of marketing strategies with a view to increasing the company's market share and profitability.
Specifically, the candidate will:
• Plan and implement the overall marketing strategy, as well as, coordinate marketing and sales efforts within the company.
• Manage overall business relationships of the composite company to maximize revenue and profit, and achieve key performance targets of various business segments in the company.
• Lead the business development initiatives of the company for sustainable growth and development.
• Design, implement and facilitate annual marketing plan for the company.
• Support and facilitate development and implementation of section business/marketing plans.
• Carry out market and competitor research and analysis ensuring that the company's products and services meet consumer needs and are top of the market.
• Develop and coordinate comprehensive publicity and promotional strategies for the company's products and services.
• Monitor and ensure the efficiency of the company's new businesses, policy servicing and claims settlement systems.
• Identify opportunities to deepen relationships with clients and partners through marketing campaigns, events and partnerships.
• Develop and manage new distribution channels for effective and efficient distribution of company's products.
• Lead the development of marketing budgets and manage the company's marketing operating budget.
• Create new business opportunities and products through creativity and innovation, as well as convert leads into new business for the company.
Qualifications, Experience and Attributes
• A good first degree or its equivalent in any discipline from a reputable institution
• Higher degree(s) in Marketing or Business Studies and other relevant professional qualification(s) will be an added advantage (e.g. ACII, AIIN etc.)
• Minimum of twelve (12) years' post qualification experience in the insurance services sector of which at least five (5) years' must have been at senior management positions
• Strong leadership and consensus building skills; marketing management and strategic planning experience
• Proven track record in developing, leveraging, networking and managing relationships with high net-worth and institutional clients
• Extensive experience in marketing and sales of both general and life insurance products
• Proven track record in developing and administering marketing programmes
• Ability to identify, develop, set up and explore new sales channels
• Experience in motivating and managing corporate and agency sales forces
• Excellent business and commercial acumen, customer service orientation and knack for breaking new grounds

MANAGER, INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY

Reporting to the Head of Corporate Services, the ideal candidate will champion the articulation and development of overall Information Systems technology strategy to effectively support the company's goal of aligning its financial and operational functions with information technology.
He/she will also articulate and implement the company's IT strategy, work plan and programmes, as well as, ensure optimisation of technology use in the company's business operations.
Specifically, the candidate will:
• Oversee the provision of IT support services to the business units.
• Establish and enforce IT policies and procedures that promote and ensure the confidentiality, integrity, availability and security of corporate data and information,
• Continually reassess IT policies and practices, and coordinate the articulation and implementation of any necessary modifications.
• Identify and manage relationships with service providers and ensure consistent adherence to agreed Service level Agreements (SLAs).
• Oversee and coordinate efforts aimed at developing IT business solutions, and ensure optimal leverage of technology to effectively enable the company's business operations, processes, and reporting.
• Oversee the design and implementation of a disaster recovery plan and system that ensures timely and continuous system availability at all times.
• Ensure constant availability of the necessary IT infrastructure to provide accurate and up-to-date business management information.
• Ensure the availability of effective enterprise-wide end-user support and monitor performance and compliance with agreed cross-functional Service levels.
Qualifications, Experience and Attributes
• A first degree in Computer Science/Engineering •or any related discipline
• Relevant professional qualifications (e:g MCSE, CISSP, CISA, OCP, MCP)
• Minimum of ten (10) years post qualification experience of which five (5) years' must have been in top/senior management positions
• Demonstrable ability to contribute creatively to the development of IT strategies and procedures
• In-depth knowledge of Information Systems management
• Excellent knowledge of relevant IT facilities/infrastructure management processes and procedures
• Excellent knowledge of standard financial systems, database management, and inter-networking tools
• Knowledge of insurance-based ERP applications, Oracle Database and Visual Basic and Microsoft Office Suite
• Knowledge of HTML application, SQL and PL/SQL
• Knowledge of Forms and Reporting tools - Crystal, Discoverer, Oracle Forms and Reports
• Experience of current business practices and operations, leading IT practice and metrics across Business & Technology dimensions

IT OFFICERS

The successful candidates will be responsible for the deployment and continuous management of appropriate Information Technology network strategy, policies and procedures while ensuring compliance, updates and enhancements as necessary. Specifically, the candidate will:
• Support the administration of the company's IT platform and network applications.
• Manage the company's messaging domain/applications.
• Monitor the activities of the information security and messaging administrators.
• Ensure optimal uptime of the company's ICT system,
• Support the administration of the portal and workflow server.
• Provide in-house support to all ICT-related, projects and applications within the company.
• Liaise with software vendors and consultants in troubleshooting application issues and apply remedial patches as required.
• Participate in the design, development and deployment of in-house applications and extension of packaged applications' functionality.
Qualifications, Experience and Attributes
• A first degree in Computer Science/Engineering or any related discipline
• Relevant professional qualifications, e.g. MCP, CISCO, OCP
• Minimum of three (3) years' post qualification experience
• Knowledge of network management and database administration
• Experience in the development of applications
• Knowledge of Oracle Database, Visual Basic, Microsoft office suite, SOL, PL/SQL, Forms & Reports and any ERP application will be a definite advantage
• Knowledge of HTML application
• Demonstrable ability to contribute creatively to the development of IT strategies and procedures
• Knowledge of Information Systems management
• Knowledge of relevant IT facilities/infrastructure management processes and procedures
