Assistant Chief Accountant Needed

A leading manufacturing company in the south south of Nigeria is looking for an Experienced Accountant to manage its department.

Note: Only candidates from the south south (Bayelsa, delta and Rivers) will be shortlisted for this position

Responsibilities

Managing Financial Resources of the Company.
Preparation of annual budgets and budgets performance review, monitoring expenditure and timely report of deviation.
Preparation of quarterly management account in comparison with budget
Monitoring cash investments and coompliance
Cash flow projection statement
Maintaining and Reconciliation of receivables and payables
Ensure timely and accurate payment by clients.
Institute proper checks and balance
Preparation of Staff salary
Verification of bank charges
Bank reconcilations
Ensuring prompt remittances/payment of tax liabilities and other deductions from monthly payroll to the respective agencies of Government/ beneficiaries – PAYE, WHT, VAT, NSITF, and Pension.


Qualifications:

First degree in Accounting, Economics, Statistics or any other finance
Relevant professional qualification e.g. ACA, ACCA, CFA, CPA, CIMA, etc or relevant post graduate degree (MBA, MSc)
proven analytical and qualitative accounting/finance competencies
Minimum of ten (7) years cognate experience, at least four (5) years of which must have been at management level preferably in the manufacturing or construction industry.
Knowledge costing and Total Quality Management
Risk Management and Relationship Management ability.
