A rising organisation with interests in mining, solid mineral exploration and energy located in Abuja is looking for competent and experienced professionals to fill the following positions;
Accountants
Requirements
Minimum of BSc Accounting (2:2)
3 years post NYSC experience working in an Accounting position
Good Written and Oral Communication Skills
Knowledge of Peachtree Accounting Package
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Access)
Duties
• Posting of all Financial Transactions into Peachtree Accounting Package
• Acting as a Cashier for the company
• Writing and Posting Monthly Journals for Fixed Assets.
• Reconciling bank statements, transactions and all activities related to the company bank accounts
• Writing Bank and Cash Payment Vouchers.
• Carrying out Bank transactions as may be instructed
• Liaising with the Internal Auditor in providing necessary Documents for his audit.
• Prepares critical fiscal documentation regarding accounting activities, e.g., weekly, monthly and annual reports, draft and revised codes and ordinances.
• Generates various complex system reports or audits calculations and ensures accuracy, e.g. billing, payroll processing, and accounts payable.
• Maintains and reconciles balance sheet accounts for all funds with assistance from accounting support personnel.
• Performs verification and reconciliation tasks for invoices/receipts/balances according to department checks and balances procedures.
• Prepares a variety of studies, reports and related information for decision-making purposes.
• Provides technical accounting support and interpretation to management and employees.
• Attends and represents department at various executive meetings for the dissemination of information.
• Coordinates activities with other departments and work groups as needed.
• Performs related duties as directed.

Chief Accountant
Requirements
Minimum of BSc Accounting (2:2) / ACA / MBA (of Advantage)
6 years post NYSC experience working in an Accounting position
Good Written and Oral Communication Skills
Knowledge of Peachtree Accounting Package
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Access)
Duties
• Plans, organizes and implements accounting operations and objectives; coordinates and integrates all activities toward achievement of established goals and objectives.
• Supervises, trains and evaluates accounting professionals, and entry level accounting and support staff.
• Liaising with the company’s bankers and verifying bank statements and transactions concerning company accounts
• Ensuring that all entries are captured in Peachtree
• Liaising with branch offices to ensure that funds are made available when required and retirements made
• Ensures all functions and programs under charge are performed within established budgetary parameters, to include performing cost control activities, monitoring revenues and expenditures, and ensuring sound fiscal control.
• Performs highly complex accounting work according to generally accepted accounting principles, established procedures, departmental guidelines, and regulatory requirements applicable to the work.
• Prepares critical fiscal documentation regarding accounting activities, e.g., weekly, monthly and annual reports, draft and revised codes and ordinances.
• Generates various complex system reports or audits calculations and ensures accuracy, e.g. billing, payroll processing, and accounts payable.
• Maintains and reconciles balance sheet accounts for all funds with assistance from accounting support personnel.
• Plans, manages, coordinates, and implements the year end closing processes and procedures for the assigned accounting records; conducts year-end closing process; provides information to financial auditors; conducts standard internal audits of various accounting records.
• Prepares budget forms for distribution at the beginning of the budget process; prepares fund summaries.
• Ensures adherence to generally accepted accounting standards and principles; ensures maintenance of proper audit trails and verification and reconciliation actions for all processed work.
• Evaluates receipts, expenditure forms, purchase orders, distributions, and disbursement orders for the purpose of ensuring compliance with established regulatory standards.

Internal Auditor
Requirements
Minimum of BSc Accounting (2:2) / ACA / MBA (of Advantage)
5 years post NYSC experience working in an Accounting / Auditing position
Good Written and Oral Communication Skills
Knowledge of Peachtree Accounting Package
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Access)
Duties
• Proper scrutiny of all payment vouchers and all other payment instruments
• Pre-audit of all invoices and bills
• Regular updating of all price lists to ensure that the company gets value for its money by paying the least price available while getting the best value possible
• Checking all retirements submitted by staff and outsiders
• Regular review of all bank statements of accounts with a view of identifying hidden and excess charges
• Verification of all staff claims
• Supervision of periodic stock taking / valuation
• Periodic spot checking on the accounts department and other departments
• Enforcement of general audit requirements
• Ensure that the board and management decision and policies especially as regards finance are strictly adhered to
• Write systems reports and suggestions (on finance) to the CEO from time to time with a view of effecting a review if necessary
• Review the means of safe guarding assets from various types of losses such as those resulting from theft, fire, improper or illegal activities and as appropriate, verify the existence of such assets
• Review of operations or programs to ascertain whether or not results are consistent with established goals and objectives
• Serve as a liaison with external auditors
