The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) Delegation in Abuja is looking for a qualified candidate with the capacity to work independently to fill in the following interesting position:

Accountant / Finance Responsible

Main Responsibilities:

• Book-keeping of cash and bank payments using SUN Accounting software
• Supervision of accountant and cashier in Abuja
• Technical supervision of our accountants in Port Harcourt and Kano offices
• Reconcile bank books on a regular basis
• Prepare monthly consolidation and closing of accounts
• Estimate cash requirements for the month
• Technical support for budget elaboration and monitoring
• Ensure respect of financial procedures and guidelines
• Audit supporting documents for all expenditures
• Audit book entries done by colleagues
• Initiate bank payments according to procedures

Required Qualifications:

• Degree in Accounting or Business Administration
• 2 years work experience in a similar field
• Good command of written and spoken English
• Proficient computer skills, especially MS Excel

• Ability to work independently and with a sense of initiative
• Methodical and rigorous
• Strong sense of responsibility and adaptability, able to work over time when needed

Starting date: As soon as possible, ideally beginning of August 2011
