Job Description:


This position provides mechanical engineering support within the Engineering group, conducts and coordinates engineering work, works as an effective team member and supports the Project Manager as required in executing projects. In addition, the project engineer will be expected to assist with quotations, bids and technical support to the proposals team. The Project Engineer has responsibility for the quality of deliverables as well as its effective execution. This position functions as a key client interface and is responsible for ensuring the product is code and specification compliant.

Be the point of contact for addressing assigned customer inquiries and through the involvement of personnel from manufacturing, engineering, procurement and project management as required, ensure timely and accurate completion of quotations and order fulfillment.

Review customer inquiry packages and prepare detailed quotation packages in response to these inquiries.

Process subsequent sales orders through the SAP business system.

As required, arrange, attend and manage meetings with customers for project type sales orders along with guidance from the customer's outside sales representative to co-ordinate customer / third party activities per terms of the purchase order, including engineering, design reviews and production review, witness points when required.

Job Requirements/ Qualifications

Maintain engineering documents and reports in SAP system. Accountable for the successful completion of engineering projects. Assist Project Manager in maintaining constant contact and interface with project Clients. Assist in the preparation on engineering project proposals including estimating. Prepare and coordinate accurate engineering documentation pertaining to the project deliverables. Provide accurate and legible specifications, work instructions and operations and maintenance manuals. Participate in meetings with Clients, contractors and staff relative to project issues. Ensure effective engineering and Client communications throughout project. Ensure that designated projects are code and specification compliant at all times. Ensure that ISO procedures are implemented at all times. Must have excellent computer skills. Working knowledge of SAP a plus.

This position should require as a minimum:


• B.S. Degree in Engineering
• Strong technical background in Well head control/ Oil and Gas Industry.
• 5-10 years experience working in the Industry building or operating this type of equipment.
• Good working skills with spreadsheets and Microsoft office in general.
• Preferably experience of dealing with the typical vendors in this field.
• Able to do material take offs from schematics and P and ID's
• Able to work unsupervised to deadlines
• Experienced and able to understand the dynamics of the Industry
• Good working knowledge of Industry codes and standards.
• Good working knowledge of the industry, type of components, and equipment used in this Industry.

  • Attend all pre well DWOP's. Liaise with Client and all 3rd Parties to maximise efficiency on dual activity with off line make up facilities, defining critical path and offline make up activities. Note: This will be very much affected by the Well Program.
  • Prepare 24hr Look Ahead for each day of operation
  • Harmonise any variance between Client and Company Drilling Procedures to avoid any confusion in Well Forward Planning Program.
  • Ensure necessary RSWP in place for each section of the Well Program.
  • Attend all preplanning operational and HSE meetings.
  • With assistance of Client/STP/Safety Co-ordinators prepare and submit to Drillers a
  • Documentation Package for each section of the well. To include that section of the
  • Drilling Program; DS components required; any challenges associated with drilling that section; relevant RSWP; Mud requirements; Any due PM/Equipment inspections; Any learning's from AAR when last drilling this section.
  • Complete Well Analysis Spreadsheet, daily, to accurately record the operations and time breakdowns, over the course of the Well.
  • Work as much as possible from the drill floor to assist drill crew and 3rd Party to effectively plan for each upcoming activity.
  • Monitor records for all the tubular rotating hours, tubular counts and tubular inspections.
  • Complete a simple but effective After Action Review (AAR) for each activity on the drill floor. This should capture a) What went well b) What did not go Well c) Capture lessons learned to be included in relevant section of Forward Planning for next well.
  • Capture and document performance improvement ideas for the well, identifying any major equipment deficiencies or equipment enhancements to improve HSE/Operational performance.
  • Complete Stena standard End of Well Performance Summary.
  • Ensure that all Company, Statutory and controlled documents related to drilling operations are fully updated and available in relevant section of Driller's Documentation Package.
  • Each section of the Forward Planning Drilling Documentation Package to be reviewed by OIM/STP prior to being issued.
    Health and Safety
  • Demonstrate commitment to the Company's Safety Policies through leadership and guidance by attending Safety pre-tour meetings etc.
  • Support implementation of the STOP system within the drilling department and carry out STOP audits on a continual basis.
  • Ensure all incidents and accidents are reported and participate in investigations as required.
  • Assist Senior Toolpusher as required in reviewing Risk Assessments for the Drilling
  • Department and provide additional support to OIM in completing the Risk Assessments
    if required.
  • Ensure all drilling crews are fully aware of the House Rules and that Stena Drilling has a Zero Tolerance Policy to any infringement of the House Rules and to Safety in general.


Environment



  • Ensure conformance to Company Policies, Local and International Laws relating to the operation of the drilling unit and strict compliance with current Pollution Regulations.


Competence Assurance



  • Will fully participate and complete the Forward Planner Unit of Competence. Control
  • CAS and act as Assessor for the drillcrew.
  • Act as an Assessor for the other members of the Drilling Department and assist with the
  • Training of the crews and gathering of evidence of competence


Training



  • Ensure full review is made on the updated monthly Training Compliance and Offshore
  • Training Matrix, ensuring that any deficiencies within this Procedure are reported promptly to the Senior Toolpusher.


Third Party Equipment and Personnel



  • Ensure that before use all Third Parties have been informed of their responsibilities with regards to their equipment being fit for purpose and fully certified, for future operations.
  • Ensure that all Third Party personnel are aware of Polices, Procedures and Best Practises on unit.
  • Assist Third Parties with any information and requirements they may need during locating and set-up of their equipment.
  • Co-ordinate between Third Party, Deck Crew and Drill Crew to ensure that equipment is prepared and ready for use in a timely manner utilising offline equipment as appropriate.


Welfare and Discipline



  • Supervise Drilling Staff and issue instructions as may be required ensuring that all work and activities under his control do not contravene applicable company procedures, working Best


Practice, Rules, Regulations and department discipline. This will include:-



  • The Company's Drug and Alcohol Policy.
