An A-level school is looking to recruit a librarian who will work with students helping them locate information. They also teach the students how to access, evaluate and use the appropriate information, such as navigating the internet to find relevant information quickly. They acquire and prepare materials, such as books, magazines and computer programs to support the student's classroom curriculum and recreational reading
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Assume responsibility for the daily operation of the Library and the supervision of the staff. E
• Maintain communication with teachers and students that will provide knowledge of academic and research programs sufficient to ensure that collections and services support curriculum and research needs.
• Keep school informed about library issues.
• Assist in the preparation of reports used by departments for reviews and accreditation, bibliographic guides, and other publications in support of the library’s collections.
• Select library resources in varied formats, including books and audiovisual/multimedia resources.
• Recommend selection of journals and electronic and digital materials.
• Monitor the acquisitions budget for assigned subject areas.
• Review approval plan slips, faculty requests, review journals, bibliographies, advertisements, publishers, and dealers catalogs, etc., to keep abreast of current and historical resources in the subject area.
• As appropriate, initiate orders for materials or refer potential orders to school for input and action.
• Monitor approval plan profiles, recommending adjustments as necessary.
• Investigate and assess databases and other electronic products available from publishers in assigned subject areas and recommend purchase or license as appropriate.

• Help develop collection development policies for assigned subject areas in consultation with the school

REQUIREMENTS
• OND/HND Library Services or any other professional qualification in library studies,
• And cognate experience in similar position.
