The Senior Manager, Human Capital Management supports the efforts of the Group Head, Legal & Corporate Services to determine how the workforce may best be managed and motivated, and their capabilities developed to enable the achievement of the Group’s Vision, and to support business growth, operating efficiency and effectiveness targets. The role, in addition, supports the envisioning, conceptualisation, design, development and delivery of HR systems, structures, processes and policies across the entire Group Units.

Qualifications & Experience:
-1st degree in the Humanities, Social Sciences, Administration etc. or other relevant field
-8 - 10 years HR operational and/or consulting experience within a reputable and structured business environment

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACTIVITIES OF THE ROLE
Responsibility
? Oversees manpower/human capability development and performance improvement systems deployments, providing needed support to the Group Head, Legal & Corp Services, executive management, teams and general workforce with respect to the identification of required interventions, and the resolution of attendant issues.
? Supports the Group Head, Legal & Corp Services in the articulation and development of high impact capability development and human performance improvement strategies aligned with the Group’s overall strategic direction, and within the context of the specific performance aspirations and business plans of individual entities which are obtained from reviews of business and individual performance reports, discussions and interactions with other entity Executive Management and employees.
? Drives efforts to build a high performing team of leaders with thorough understanding and appreciation of corporate strategy, business/functional planning, operations, execution excellence, business performance management and people development requirements.
? Towards ensuring business continuity, supports the Group Head, Legal & Corp Services in the development of a well-formulated and effective group-wide succession planning framework (to include e.g. career growth opportunity identification, as well as the targeted development, mentoring, career counseling of high-flyers at all levels).
? Oversees the implementation of specific capability and human performance improvement initiatives/programs (e.g. Management training, Leadership Development) for improving individual and organisational performance capacity and potential to achieve business results.
? Leads efforts around the development of a competitive corporate culture and system of values across the company through well-defined, properly structured and delivered culture change programs, working with the Group Head, Legal & Corp Services, entire HCM team, Management and other employee groups across the organisation.
? Identifies, builds and manages relationships with high-value external Human Resource Management support organisations, in areas including Recruitment, Training and Development, Employee Relations, Compensation Strategy and Reward Scheme..
? Nurtures the relationship with other Hr Managers to ensure effective partnership in the identification of business issues, development and implementation of appropriate solutions and achievement of high levels of employee morale, commitment and performance.

Operational
? Supports efforts towards defining/updating the Group’s Vision for HR and for ensuring continued alignment of operations with the overall Group Vision and strategic direction
? Supports Change Management efforts on major corporate and entity level projects and business initiatives.
? Supports the development of Group-wide organisation and job structures based on efficient processes; ensures the workforce profile is appropriate and aligned with business imperatives for success in the short-, medium- and long-term.
? Manages key relationships with internal clients and group employee.
? Oversees the transaction processing and solutions implementation efforts of the Human Capital Management Departments and ensures administrative efficiency on a daily-basis.
? Works with the Group Head, Legal & Corp Services to develop and implement a comprehensive, integrated and effective Human Resource Management Framework (systems, policies, procedures and periodic plans) covering: Human Resources Policies, Manpower Planning, Recruitment, Selection and Deployment, Performance and Reward Management, Training and Human Performance Improvement, Performance Management, Career Development, Succession Planning and Employee Consultation; ensures all systems and policies address business imperatives and remain aligned with the organisation’s strategic direction.
? Monitors employee total cost to company and implements various initiatives to optimise staff costs.
? Oversees manpower planning and employee cost budgeting processes to ensure all resource requirements are based on periodic business plans and are justified vis-à-vis revenues and growth estimates.
? Leads annual performance management activities (i.e. performance planning/target setting, performance monitoring and periodic performance appraisals); ensures employee performance results adequately reflect corporate and departmental performance levels.
? Tracks corporate, departmental and employee competency levels against requirements, works with Unit HR Managers to determine gaps and ensure adequate and effective training and personnel development programs are in place to provide staff with the competencies (skills, knowledge and attributes) required for success in their current and future planned roles.
? Oversees the career development, capacity development and progression of all employees, with emphasis on those that consistently exceed performance expectations; directly monitors HCM team performance and development.
? Manage overall culture of the organisation; initiates programs to address any issues identified.
? Produces/provides periodic HCM Services updates and management reports to stakeholders as may be required.
? Implement or ensure the availability of comprehensive, accurate and adequate Personnel information (through a modern Human Resource Information Management System) for employee decision-making efforts.
? Performs other duties as may be delegated by the Group Head, Legal & Corp Services from time to time.
