    Job Description
    The System Engineer Operational Skill is typically working with resource layer functionality activities associated to the (Resource Management & Operations (RM&O) Readiness- Fulfillment, Assurance and Billing (R-FAB) process areas.
    The System Engineer is responsible for changes introduced to the resource layer functionality and to contribute in the creation and improvements to OC procedures and routines to keep the configuration, dependability performance & billing provisioning at specified level.

    Functional Reasponsibilities.
    The engineer performs optimization of nodes and solutions to the Core, and configuration support to Access and Services Networks as well as for Telecom management solutions.
    • Detailed Core Network Design for GSM/ WCDMA network with MSS and PS
    • Network Design Review of GSM/ WCDMA Core networks
    • To be able to use all Design tools to deliver Design services
    • Support to MPBN Design team in IP transport network design
    • Support for Layered Architecture Network Design employing Mobile Soft Switch (MSS)
    • Analyze the customer’s existing systems, needs, and requirements
    • Do presentations and participate in technical discussions with customers
    • Participate in customer projects, handling scope, risks, changes and
    Customer expectations
    • Perform advisory studies and pre studies
    To adhere to the appropriate working methodology for managed services.

    Functional/Operational Skill Activities
    System Engineer Activities

    • Excellent Technical Knowledge of Mobile Network Optimization
    • Good Understanding of all Processes supporting the network
    The System Engineer is normally associated to the following generic MS TOP process areas:

    RM&O Readiness
    The main activities are the following:
    • Define and set up of resource management routines, schedules and reporting templates based on goals and priorities defined by Management & Control / Operations management
    • Co-ordinate work with other R-FAB Operation process / work areas
    • Planning of work for RM&O back office & front office based on main goals and priorities defined by operations management
    • Define NMS system / support systems set-up and authority administration for collection of resource performance statistics data in co-operation with systems engineers
    • Responsible for authorization and specification regarding utilization of additional and specialized (custom) tools used (i.e. non EAB commercially available products or other vendor products)

    RM&O Fulfillment
    The main activities are the following:
    • Prepare and implement Performance reporting
    • Prepare and implement node changes and updates in the performance monitoring tools such as OSS_RC

    RM&O Assurance
    The main activities are the following:
    • Collect and analyze resource performance data and ensure that appropriate short term measures for optimization are taken to secure that resource performance meets specified dependability criteria
    • Provide resource performance reporting with adequate information i.e. root cause analysis, to enable stakeholders and / or SIP processes to determine appropriate long-term resource improvements.

    RM&O Billing
    The main activities are the following:
    • Collection of usage (CDR) Data including filtering / formatting and aggregation
    • Analysis of usage (CDR) Data in order to identify loss and / or corruption of e data in different collection and processing steps.
    • Distribution of processed of usage (CDR) Data to other processes within the enterprise for further analysis and/or reporting.

    Competence requirements
    Engineering Graduate with 5+ years experience in Design/ Planning/ Operation of GSM/ WCDMA networks.
