COLLEGE PROVOST

In view of the above, the College Govering Council is in the process of appointing a new Provost. Applicatons are therefore invited from suitable qualified candidates for the said post. Candidates for this post must demonstrate evidence of strong academic and administrative leadership, initiative and creative in policy formulation, good human relations, and positive managerial qualities.

Duties
The Provost is the Chief Executive of the college who is answerable to the Governing Council. Successful candidate would be expected to provide the required academic, administrative and professional leadership for the college in executing the broad policies laid down by the Governing Council for the purpose of achieving the objectives for which the college was established. He/she shall foster good rapport with all the relevant educational organizations i.e State Ministry of Education, NCCE, SUBEB, JAMB and other professional bodies that could lead to the attainment by the College of the status of centre of excellence to compete with sister colleges in the country.

Qualification and Qualities
1. Caandidate must possess a minimum of Masters Degree from a recognized university. He or she must also possess a professional teaching qualification (NCE/PDGE)
2. Candidate must have held senior teaching, research, and top administrative posts in an institution of higher learning. He/she must have at least fifteen (15) years cognate experience and must not be below rank of Chief Lecturer in a College or a Reader or Associate Professor in a university.
3. Candidate must show evidence of good record of accomplishment in result oriented researches.
4. Candidate must be computer literate
5. Candidate should be of sound physical and mental health
6. candidate should produce evidence of membership of reputable professional body(s) in Nigeria.
7. Candidate should produce evidence of scholarly publications in reputable journals as well as presentation of relevant papers at national/International conference/seminars or workshop.
8. Candidate must be objective, fair-minded, impartial and of unquestionable character and proven intergrity.

TENURE/CONDITION OF SERVICE
The appointment is for a term of four years and may be re-appointed for another term of four years only.
