A reputable hotel in the heart of Lagos, is seeking to recruit a purchasing manager with hotel experience, who is to plan, execute and finalize purchasing and procurement strategies.

The purchasing manager is a professional who is mainly an expert in material management and price negotiations. The main duty in purchasing manager job description is to buy goods and products for the company. His aim is to buy quality products at the best possible price for saving the administrative costs of the facility of employment.

RESPONSIBILITIES
• Monitor and analyze trends in hotel spending and inventory control in order to make recommendations for future and to identify areas for possible savings
• Develop, establish, implement, and enforce supplier and outsourcer guidelines.
• Analyze market trends and make conditions for present and future pricing and availability.
• Interview, identify and qualify potential new vendors or suppliers in order to secure more cost effective sources of products and services.
• Has to keep a track of the quality of products and services, brands, and the ongoing price of those goods. This helps in determining the best source for acquiring goods for his employer. He has to communicate with the product suppliers to carry out the purchase. He has to keep a detailed record of the inventory of goods stored.
