The 'top-up' course builds on the knowledge and skills that candidates already have through their relevant postgraduate qualification. It requires candidates to complete a dissertation, which will entail candidates conducting extensive research, evaluating critically the usage of appropriate methodologies, gathering data through a variety of techniques, drawing conclusions based upon qualitative and/or quantitative analysis and producing a high quality written report. The course will require candidates to meet their dissertation supervisor at agreed frequencies, ensuring candidates get maximum guidance.

What are the career prospects?

Having achieved the MSc, students are able to pursue a variety of roles in the Tourism & Hospitality sectors. The roles can be in any area - operations, development, promotions, quality, research etc. - and can be in the private and public sector alike. Organisations such as hotels, leisure & recreational conglomerates will offer suitable opportunities as will advisory and development sections of local and central government. Students can also decide to progress to higher research-based studies such as MPhil's and PhD's.

Entry Requirements:

- Candidates must have good English skills, equivalent to IELTS 6.0 as a minimum

AND

- Have completed a relevant Bachelors degree



OR

- Have a substantial amount of supervisory/managerial level experience in the Tourism/Hospitality sector

AND

- Have completed an approved postgraduate qualifications such as the Edexcel Advanced Professional Diploma in Strategic Hospitality Management or the CTH Postgraduate Diploma.
