A-3 DAY TRAINING COURSE ON BULK OIL STORAGE TANK

1.0 RATIONALE BEHIND THE TRAINING

This Training Course is put together to enable participants gain expertise from real-world situations that bridge theory with practical applications. It is also meant to empower fresh Engineering Graduates to get the necessary skills that will enable them to be employable. This is a fact because most of our graduates do not have the required skills to function in the global World.


2.0. OBJECTIVES OF THE TRAINING

At the end of the training, participants should be able to-
• Make use of Excel Spread Sheet to calculate Shell, Bottom and Roof Plate thickness of Storage Tanks.
• Understand, prepare and interpret Data Sheet for Tanks.
• Estimate plate requirement for Tank Construction.
• Supervise the Fabrication and Installation of Tanks.
• Prepare As-Built Drawing of Tanks.

3.0. COURSE CONTENT

This training Course is Practical base. The tank design is centered on American Petroleum Institute code (API 650) and America Institute of Structural Construction code (AISC). The Course Content is in two parts- Basis of Tank Design and Detail Engineering Design.

• Details of Roof Structure


4.0. TRAINING STRATEGIES

This training is practical base and it has a lot of interactive section. Each of the participants will be given the opportunity to reason like an Engineer. They will take part in Sample Works and contribute to general discussions.

Participants will be very free to ask questions. They will also be made to answer questions.

5.0. TRAINING REQUIREMENT
• A knowledge of Microsoft Excel
• A knowledge of AutoCAD Software
• A Laptop.
