POSITION: OPERATIONS MANAGER LOCATION: Lagos - Nigeria

SUMMARY OF THE OVERALL JOB ASSIGNMENT
Reporting to the Business Unit General Manager, this position is responsible for the daily operations management of program budgets, logistics, resolution of day to day issues and challenges.
The candidate will manage the day to day operations of the Company in Nigeria.
The principal objective of this position is to permit/support the Business Unit General Manager and team to achieve commercial success for the company.
The role will also contribute to continuous business improvement by identifying, analyzing and implementing effective business methods in the daily operations.
The candidate must be a strong leader able to address day to day issues and challenges quickly and efficiently, in addition, he/she will have excellent communication skills.

MAIN ACTIVITIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
? Support the General Manager in the management of the business unit's operating budget.
? Participate in weekly team meetings with the different departments of the Business Unit: Engineering, Service, Sales, Finance & Administration.
? Assist the General Manager in the preparation of all operations related reports and report to Global team in all meetings about business P&L activities and Forecast.
? Be the spokesperson for the local Business Unit and support the Manager in discussing the various local objectives and plans.
? Cascade the Global objectives and plans to the local business and implement global procedures and processes locally.
? Manage contractors and suppliers, distribution channel. Facilitate contract administration, inspection and Project Management.
? Handle issues is a top priority for the role. Some of these are risk management, shipment delays, client's dissatisfaction, employee problems, distributors.
? Support general manager during employee's performance reviews, salary planning, PDP & PIPs process, establish rules and procedures, create work schedules.
? Provide a work environment that engenders positive energy, creativity and teamwork among employees.
? The role will ensure all company objectives and goals are clearly communicated
? Determine and resolve employee/department issues and concerns.
? Set rules and procedures for the employees. This includes setting policies in the workplace to ensure effective implementation and adherence among each and every employee in the B.U.
? Ensures the Company’s Policies and Procedures are implemented, respected and followed by all employees.
? Puts in place special projects and programmes to improve the efficiency and profitability of all activities.
? Contribute as a member of the management team (locally, regionally and globally) to determine the company's overall business strategy and gain commitment to this strategy and ensure delivery from the operations group. Direct, plan and prioritize the use of the group's resources to achieve the optimum utilization and profitability whilst continually assessing group performance to identify and implement improvement actions in concert with other operations.
? Manage, lead and motivate direct staff to achieve excellence within their roles and profession ensuring identification and fast tracking of high potential employees. Ensure measurable objectives are established with all operations staff with regular monitoring of performance. Also responsible in accordance with HR policy responsible for hiring, discharging, promotions and performance/salary reviews for personnel within the operation. Plus responsibility for coaching, training and administration of relevant staff records for holidays etc.
? Identify, put in place and monitor Change initiatives & projects with the rest of the team.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS
EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS & PROFESSIONAL COMPETENCIES:
? Minimum of B.Sc in Engineering or Business Administration or equivalent or experience to compensate in similar position.
EXPERIENCE:
? Minimum of 5 years in complex, solution selling sales and business development experience in any targeted industry.
? Past experience in closing deals of $5-10 Million in contract value
