Our client a leading multinational company in the manufacturing industry requires the services of dynamic, multitalented and dedicated professionals to fill its Human Resources & Public Affairs positions.
1. Job Title: Human Resource Manager


The Role:
The successful applicant will be required to lead the Human Resource Department in one of the locations by supporting the Strategic objectives of the industry whilst administering and ensuring compliance to all HR policies and procedures.


Our preferred candidates should have the ability to work constructively with staff at all levels across organisational/cultural boundaries. The successful candidate will ensure that Heads of Departments, line managers and their teams are enabled to achieve their business goals through professional HR support, accurate management information and the provision of timely people processes.


This role reports operationally to the Company Manager, and functional to the Employee Relations Manager intheHead Office.

The Person is expected to work closely with:

o Heads of Department as the main contact for enquiries on people management, process, compliance and best practice.
o Heads of Department to ensure policies and process are well communicated and adhered to by all.
o Heads of Department for consistency and accurate provision of management information to aid/ foster quality decision making on people issues.
o Human Resource Managers in other locations to share best practices and work towards a consistent approach in dealing with people issues across all locations.
o Unit Executives of the Union to promote peaceful/harmonious industrial relations.


General Expectations

  • The successful candidate will need to have a broad background in HR and ideally some experience of working in a Multi National organisation, Fast Moving Consumer Group or a Consulting Firm
  • The person will need to be able to think strategically whilst also being hands-on, and have the enterprise and initiative to deliver on areas that may be new or unfamiliar.
  • Ability to challenge perceptions while influencing and building strong relationships Company-wide.
  • Responds positively to a team ethos and can also, as circumstances dictate, be self reliant and independent.

The ideal candidate should be:
o From the core North(Christian/Muslim, Hausa speaking)

o Willing to relocate if not based in the North



Qualification:
o B. Sc (Second Class Lower) preferably in Humanities, Social Sciences, Law or any numerate discipline
o Relevant Masters degree will be an advantage
o 5 Credits in WASC/GCE ‘O’ Level including English Language and Mathematics at one sitting.
o Membership of CIPMwill be an advantage

o Work Experience - At least 6 Years post NYSC
o Not more than 35 years as at December 12, 2011

2. Job Title: Public Affairs Manager North

Location: Kaduna

The Role:
The successful applicant will be required to lead the Public Affairs Department in Kaduna by supporting the Strategic objectives of the Corporate Affairs Adviser whilst building and protecting the reputation of the company.

Our preferred candidate should have the ability to work constructively within a highly dynamic political environment, proactively connect and influence relevant stake holders on policies. The successful candidate will ensure a positive public perception and conducive external environment for the Companys’ operations through professional information management.


The role reports operationally to the Corporate Affairs Adviser in the Head Office

The Person is expected to work closely with:

o Host community
o Media Houses
o Government Agencies
o Other relevant stakeholders.


General Expectations

  • The successful candidate will need to have a broad background in Public Affairs and ideally some experience of working in a Multi National organisation, Fast Moving Consumer Group or an Advertising / Media Company.
  • The person will need to be able to think strategically whilst also being hands-on, and have the enterprise and initiative to deliver on areas that may be new or unfamiliar.

o Relevant Masters degree will be an advantage

o Membership of Relevant Professional bodies

o Not more than 38 years as at December 31, 2011
