POSITION : ENGINEERING BUYER
JOB SCOPE:

• Carry out required contracting and purchasing activities in accordance with established procedures and practices; including application of competitive bidding methods, creation of long term value, payment arrangements and use of procurement management systems
• Ensure purchase of Engineering/project materials and services with terms and conditions that support the achievement of the project cost and schedule targets.
• Maintain competitive pricing with emphasis on cost reductions, quality and supplier delivery performance and identify new opportunities for supplier alliances and agreements
• Eliminate or reduce company liability by ensuring that all contracting and purchasing activities comply with the relevant safety and operational policies, procedures, contractual requirements and governmental regulations.
• Ensuring that all items delivered and services performed are certified complete and necessary documents are processed for supplier payment.
• Generate monthly project progress and procurement performance reports as required by Management

PERSON SPECIFICATIONS:

To be qualified for this position, an applicant must:
• Not be more than 30 years
• B. Sc degree qualified in Engineering or Management Sciences with a minimum of 2nd Class Lower grade obtained from any recognised University. Possession of Chartered institute of Purchasing and Supply Certification will be an added advantage.
• Possess minimum 5 years cognate experience obtained from a reputable FMCG company.
• Be a highly analytical, energetic and with strong leadership skill. He/she must be proficient in the use of computer applications and familiar with an ERP-managed environment
