What specific things can be done to reduce unemployment in Nigeria?

I was listening to BBC last week and the reporter said, UK has officially entered recession.It was also said that the unemployment rate had risen to 6.7%. Obama through out his campaign was ever saying the unemployment rate must not get to double digit. Hearing all these, one could not help wonder what Nigeria unemployment rate will be with the mass of school leavers on the street with no work. Also I wonder if it is something the government is not doing right or in paraphrasing JF Kennedy, is it that we unemployed people, the employed, the rich and the poor are thinking more of what the country can do for us and not what we can do for the country?
