THE JOB CONCEPT

The Systems Engineer is responsible for the maintenance and day-to-day operation of the IS infrastructure. Such IS infrastructure includes but not limited to computer hardware, computer network, system software and applications and telecommunication equipments. The SE also maintains a very cordial and proactive relationship with users of information systems provides training and assures excellent user satisfaction.

JOB/PERSON SPECIFICATIONS

Any combination of training, experience, and/or education equivalent to University Degree but preferably a bachelors degree in Computer Science or related field
More than ONE year experience in heterogeneous network and micro-computer environments
Experience in a service industry setting or equivalent with advanced training in network and/or operating systems.

Should posses a solid knowledge of

Computers, multimedia and networks and/or business computer applications
Micro-computers from BIOS and peripheral buses to the component level
Variety of individual personal computer operating systems including local area networks
Micro-computer operating systems including all Microsoft Windows and Applications
Training techniques for a diverse employee population with varying skill levels
Oral and written communication skills
Documentation and record-keeping techniques
Diagnostic techniques.

Should have the ability to

Identify and correct networks and components for various types of ethernet and fibre networks
Install and configure networks and components Windows 2003 and Windows XP environments
Provide highly complex and advanced technical support to users, and maintenance to PwC Abuja office systems hardware and software
Use appropriate judgment in diverse and emergency situations
Work independently with little direction
Diagnose a personal computer or a network of personal computer hardware and software
Install and operate various computer hardware and software applications
Establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others
Prioritize and schedule work assigned.
