Following the PTDF advertisement requesting interested Nigerians to apply for training consideration in the PTDF WTCP, and the subsequent aptitude test held at the PTI (Effurun) & Kaduna Polytechnic on 30th December 2009, some States of the Federation
did not field enough candidates to meet the requirements of equity and balance in the training.

Consequently, the PTDF has decided to organize another aptitude test for interested candidates for the PTDF WTCP from the affected States for training consideration under the programme. In that regard, INTERESTED & QUALIFIED SCHOOL CERTIFICATE HOLDERS WITH PASSES IN ATLEAST 2 SCIENCE SUBJECTS from the following states of the Federation:

1. FCT, 2. ANAMBRA, 3. AKWA-IBOM, 4. BAYELSA, 5.CROSS RIVERS, 6. EBONYI, 7. EKITI, , 8. KEBBI, 9. KWARA, 10. LAGOS, 11. ONDO, 12. OSUN, 13. RIVERS, 14. TARABA AND 15. ZAMFARA;

Are invited to submit applications for the PTDF WTCP. The training of these welders will be conducted in centres which meet IIW standards as accredited by the Nigerian Institute of Welding (NIW) and in accordance with IIW guidelines on welders training

CRITERIA FOR QUALIFICATION TO APPLY

Applications are hereby invited from candidates who meet the following criteria:
i. Must be from any of the States listed above
ii. Ability to speak and write in English language.
iii. Must posses a school certificate with passes in at least two science subjects.iv. Must show proof of Local government of Origin.
v. Must be between the ages of 18 and 30 years of age.
vi. Must possess a medical certificate of fitness from a government hospital, including eye test (optical).
vii. Must provide two referees who will formally attest to applicant’s suitability, one of these must be his local government chairperson.
APPLICANTS WHO DO NOT MEET ALL THE ABOVE CRITERIA NEED NOT APPLY, AND THE ABSENCE OF ANY REQUIREMENT IS GROUNDS FOR DISQUALIFICATION.

Applications should be addressed to the Executive Secretary, Petroleum Technology Development Fund, Plot 672, Port Harcourt Crescent, Off Gimbiya Street, Area 11, Garki, Abuja. All applications should be accompanied with photocopies of :
• Educational certificates
• Medical certificate of fitness as stated above
• Proof of local government of origin
• Birth certificate or
declaration of age Applicants should state clearly their current place of abode and also their permanent address. Contact details should include an active mobile phone number(s) and an email address (if any).

Additional information:
• Training will be for a period of 12 calendar months at the various accredited centres.
• Shortlisted candidates will be made to undergo a written aptitude test before final selection.
• All applications are expected to reach the PTDF by COB Friday January 29th 2010.
• Names of shortlisted candidates from the States above for the aptitude tests will be published on the PTDF website (www.ptdf.gov.ng) and aptitude tests will be conducted on Wednesday February 10, 2010, for all candidates at 2 centers (In Portharcourt & Kaduna).

Successful candidates at the aptitude test together with successful candidates from the aptitude test held on 30th December 2009 will
commence training in the first quarter of 2010.
THE COMPREHENSIVE RESULTS FOR THE 2 APTITUDE TESTS (of Decemeber 30TH 2009 & February 10TH 2010) will be published by the 3rd Week of February 2010 on the PTDF
