JOB DESCRIPTION : COMPUTERIZED SAW OPERATOR.

GENERAL SUMMARY:
Sets up & operates computer & machinery peripheral to computer for purpose of processing &/or converting raw boards into furniture components. Work requires knowledge of programming & computer logic & of methodology required to run a computer equipment.

main responsibilities:
- Sets up & loads computer equipments with required items & prepares computer equipments for operation.
- Operates computer & machinery peripheral to computer for purpose of processing furniture components.
- Perform tasks necessary for maintenance of computer/ machine systems.
- Troubleshoots minor equipment malfunctions & corrects them as directed by computer operations manual.
- Trains new computer operators in methodology of operating computer systems.
- Maintains log of all work processed.

Knowledge, skills & abilities required:

- Ability to read computer instruction manuals & comprehend directions therein in order to remedy minor computer equipment malfunctions. This is normally acuired through completion of a high school education.
- Knowledge of programming & computer logic in order to perform tasks listed under principal duties & responsibilities (above). This is normally acquired in 3 to 6 months of basic technical training.
- Knowledge of methodology to run a computer system & to troubleshoot minor computer equipment malfunctions. This is normally acquired with 1 to 2 months of on-the-job experience.
- Interpersonal skills neccesary to train others in computer system methodology.
- Physical abilities to stand & walk properly, as well as to lift & carry items weighing less than 20 pounds for 25 to 30 percent of work time.
- Ability to cater & pay attention to health & safety while in work place.
- Ability to meet deadlines.

Academic Qualification:
Ond or equivalent.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Sufficient noise 50% of working time from equipment peripheral to computer that may cause mild physical discomfort.




JOB DESCRIPTION : Product Technician.

Key duties: To assemble furniture components & products, ensuring that they meet specification.

main responsibilities:
- To assemble components & install products ( kitchen cabinets, wardrobes, office furniture etc ) to established specifications.
- To test components & products to ensure that they meet requirements.
- Address & resolve any technical problems arising in the assembly & installation of components & products.
- Maintain all required records of components & products assembled & any problems encountered.
- Establish & maintain contact with other departments to ensure that product documentation & installation documentation, processes & procedures are up to date.
