    MODULE 1
    1.0. Fluid Properties and Phase behaviour modeling
    1.1. Component of production system
    1.2. Flow assurance concerns that need to be examined:




    • Pipeline rupture from corrosion
    • Pipeline blockage from hydrates or wax
    • Severe slugging can damage separator
    • Large pressure drop in pipelines can cause lower flow than should be




    MODULE 2
    2.1. Flow assurance strategies that need to be adopted:




    • Hydraulic Analysis – acceptable pressure drops, pipeline size, erosion & corrosion limits
    • Thermal Analysis – temperature distribution, heat loss
    • Inhibition Analysis – hydrate inhibitors, wax inhibitors, corrosion inhibitors, scale inhibitors




    2.2. Flow assurance strategies Terms
    · Beggs and Brill method
    · Volume fraction, holdup and water cut
    · Superficial velocity
    · Mixture velocity and density
    · Mass conservation
    · Momentum conservation
    · Energy conservation
    · Mass transfer between phases
    · Subsonic vs. transonic, supersonic and hypersonic flows

      • Max./Min. Velocity
      • Flow Regime Prediction
      • Slugging (Hydrodynamic and Severe Slugging)
        • Pots equation for Severe Slugging (or Terrain Slugging)
        • Mean Slug Length and Probabilistic Model for
          • Slug Length (Hill & Wood Method)
          • Maximum Slug Length = 6 times the mean slug length
          • Slug Frequency (Hill & Wood Method)
