I don't think so. I heard Geoservices, a schlumberger company do recruit 2.2 graduates.

I have a 2.1 and i wrote schlumberger early this year. I also met other guys with same grade like me but your assertion may not be far from the truth based on what i noticed they give preference to 1st class holders. According to their HR representative that conducted the test He said they receive volumes of application all year round and it's really difficult selecting applicants for the test. Funny enough the population that came for the test was not much when you consider the number of people companies like SHELL, MOBIL et al invite to take their test. TRANSOCEAN is another culprit. Recruitment in Nigeria is full of SHIT!!!

Both slb and Haliburton recruits 2.1.

slb even recruits a lot of HND holders every year. Just apply and pray you get called for the test. As am sure you are aware that slb calls for test 3 times a year.

Yeah I knw schlum call 3times...schlums have different units geoservice, anadrill, baroid etc..do des sub companies recruit differently from d main slb and if so how can I apply to geoservice bcos seems der r d main drilling arm

Schlumberger do no recruit only 1st class. Minimum requirements are 2.1 or upper credit as the case may be. Usually your CV is "you" in writting. If the CV does not speak for you when the recruiter goes through it then you cant be invited. main attribute on your CV are things like your grade, Personnal attributes and your previous experience (IT or work) and your job function during those times; "Short and Precise"

As for recruiting, the team decides where you best fit in schlumberger during your interview. most times you dont have the choice of selecting where you want, your CV and the interview panel decides where you fit.

@Xyoung: The sub companies like Geoservices recruit independently, but they still use SLB facilities to train their new intakes. And of course the pay with SLB directly is different from the sub companies. As for the 1st class thing..its not true, they hire 2-1 too.
