RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead and motivate the depot team to develop and deliver programmes of work safely on time and to budget in line, thereby meeting corporate objectives.
- Develop and manage the Depot team (including external suppliers), monitoring there are adequate, qualified and trained resources available to deliver a flexible, competent, skilled and effective work programme at all times.
- Identify priority opportunities within the programme and lead promotion and sharing of best practice between programmes.
- Monitor future years Development so that it considers access, specification and delivery requirements fully and supports the effective delivery to Route client’s requirements.
- Undertake accident investigation when remitted by the relevant designated competent person. Comply with legislation and industry standards, follow and Comply with rules, procedures and working practices.
- Identify and implement quality and efficiency improvement initiatives and lead and inspire the team to maintain full engagement in meeting business objectives.
- Implement the agreed management system for monitoring and supervision of on-site work activities.
- Be responsible for site surveillance and directing the Depot work force so that the delivery meets the agreed specifications with agreed safe methods of working.
- Manage and safeguard members of the public so that they suffer minimal inconvenience during site works.
- To effectively implement the Company’s Health, Safety and Environmental Policies
and promote at all levels. Set standards in Health and Safety Behaviour.
- To assist the Area Manager with the programming of works and ensuring correct level of resources.
- To follow approved accident and incident reporting process, complete paperwork and provide initial report. Carry out accident investigation, and take statements and collect evidence etc.
- Produce operational documents and drawings for various schemes as required e.g.Method Statements, Risk Assessments, TM Layout drawings.
- Monitor labour only sub-contractors timesheets and invoices.
- Support the commercial team by maintaining accurate records of operations e.g. Plant and Labour reports, monthly applications supporting information.
- To ensure workforce competency. Ensure the workforce understand what is required of them, adequate instruction is given to individuals under their control regarding their duties and responsibilities.
- Maintain and develop relationships with sub-contractors and clients.
- To ensure that any issues raised that cause concern are acted upon and resolved quickly.
- To prepare documentation, and check that all has been completed and filed accordingly
QUALIFICATION
- Relevant experience in the successful management of major programmes of work in the construction industries.
- Knowledge of the principles of Health & Safety legislation, environmental and best practice.
- Project safety management experience
