Available Position: Biochemist / Chemical Pathologist

Salary Range: ?120,000.00 to ?150,000.00 per month excluding incentives

Responsibilities:

  • Incumbent performs research in areas of functional cell analysis such as cell growth, metabolic activity, and cell signaling.
  • He/she will be expected to apply existing knowledge of cell-based assays for the purpose of developing new diagnostic technologies with a focus on brand specimen collection and preservation devices.
  • He/she will also be expected to acquire proficiency in the areas of hematology, coagulation, diagnostic chemistry, and molecular diagnostics.
  • He/she reports to the Diagnostics R&D team and provides laboratory support for cross-functional technology development goals.
  • Incumbent performs technology feasibility assessments for new technology concepts (medical diagnostic equipment and procedures) being invented/evaluated by product development scientists.
  • Responsibilities include defining and executing experiments including diagnostic tests and functional cell analysis to support research driven technology development decisions.
  • He/she will be expected to collaborate with other laboratory associates and senior scientists in assessing technology feasibility.
  • Collaboration includes proposing and executing experiments, making detailed observations of experimental results, analyzing data, and interpreting results to determine adequacy of new methods and technologies for potential new products.
  • Tabulate and analyze data using statistical and other software programs, including but not limited to Microsoft Excel.
  • Candidate will be expected to prepare protocols for complex experiments and to investigate new technology concepts using a variety of experimental approaches including novel application of automated clinical assays and newly developed cell-based assays, potentially with novel instrumentation.
  • Develop methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for feasibility studies independently.
  • Assists with the design and execution of experiments towards understanding and improving the biochemical robustness of specimen collection products.


Qualifications and Requirements:

  • HND/Bachelor's Degree in Biochemistry, Biology, Chemistry
  • Good laboratory experience in a medical/pharmaceutical settings will be an added advantage
