    Base Transceiver Station (BTS) Engineering Training

    Being a BTS Engineers qualifies you to handle job of Cell site development, installations and commissioning. BTS device is a very important part of cellular network communication as it connects the Mobile station (MS) to the network. The aim of this course is to give your first hand training on the operations of a BTS, BTS hardware connection and architecture, BTS configuration, test and commissioning, and also BTS troubleshooting. The course also covers the course content of GSM engineering.
    Course content:
    • Introduction and Evolution of GSM (HSCSD, GPRS, EDGE, UMTS).
    • Features of GSM and GPRS network Architecture.
    • GSM and GPRS network components (MS, TC, BTS, BSC, BSS, OMC, MSC, GMSC, PSTN NSS etc).
    • GSM terrestrial interfaces (Um, A, A-ter, Abis etc).
    • Channels on the air interface (Physical and Logical channels).
    • Radio interference optimization (power control and interference).
    • Call setup, Hand over and Call termination.
    • Introduction GPRS.
    • Introduction UMTS.
    • Introduction to Base Transceiver station (BTS).
    • Main principle feature and characteristics of a BTS.
    • BTS Cabinets structure, description and types.
    • BTS hardware architecture and connection (SUM, TRX, ANY, ANX, BTSCA, Fan Unit, PSU, DC, Sub racks etc).
    • BTS Ranges
    • BTS configuration, Test and commissioning.
    • Environmental compatibility (EMC)
    • BTS fault finding and troubleshooting
    • Site visit.
