What happens guys to a very brilliant fellow, who had one of the best WASSCE result in the country and because of his performance in a national competition was given a scholarship to the University. This fellow was initially in the 1st class range, but because of some things that happened in a single year where he carried over more 4 courses(which he did not write by the way), he ended up with a 2.2(actually 3.4..). He takes responsibility for what happened since he believes that he should still have done better even after that unfortunate year. When does the guilt stop? And why does society continue to 'punish' an individual for a mistake at a stage in his life while completely forgetting his past achievements and his potential? This fellow was not shortlisted in Shell process recently apparently because he didnt have a 2.1, and he might also not be 'considered' for Exxonmobil probably for similar reasons. He needs some advice

Guy I do feel for your frnd, but that's world for you, I don't want to knw wat really happend in school, but the best thing he can do for himsef now is to go for masters bcos most of this multinationals attach so much value to 2:1. I wish him best of luck. He can as well look for smtin to do while he waits for his masters.

u said ur frnd wasnt shortlisted in the shell process - is it the shell 2011 or 2012 process?
My advice for ur frnd is to keep searching. There are some multinational companies that accept 2:2. He should also apply for masters preferrably overseas.
