The University of Nigeria is recruiting for Principals and a Headmistress to manage its Secondary and Primary Schools based in Nsukka (Enugu State) and Aba (Abia State) Campuses.

Applicants are invited from suitably qualified candidates to fill the under-listed administrative positions in the University of Nigeria Secondary School Nsukka Campus and University of Nigeria Demonstration Secondary and Primary Schools, Aba Campus, respectively.

A.) Principal - University of Nigeria Secondary School, Nsukka Campus (Advertisement Reference: UNP/SSR.37/7A/UNSS/NC/0610)

Qualification and Experience:
A candidate for this post must possess a good honours degree in Education which must include a teaching subject or a good honours degree with a postgraduate Diploma in Education. In both cases, a higher degree in Educational Psychology/Administration will be an advantage.

The candidate should possess not less than 18 years post-qualification teaching and Educational/Administrative Experience, at least eight of which must have been spent in educational administration as principal or 12 years as vice-principal of a post-primary institution. Other educational/administrative experience such as service in the Inspectorate Division of the Federal Ministry of Education or in a State School, Service Board/Commission will be an advantage.

Duties:
The University of Nigeria Secondary School, Nsukka Campus is a Co-Educational Secondary School and functions in line with the 3-3 Secondary School System as embodied in the Federal Government National Policy on Education.
The Principal shall see to the effective control and management of the school. He/she shall be responsible to the School Board for the day-to-day general administration and supervision of the school. He/she shall implement school policies as determined from time-to-time by the Board of Governors of the Secondary School, Nsukka Campus and other Authorities of the University. The school will demand plenty of drive, resourcefulness and dedication from the Principal.


B.) Principal – University of Nigeria Demonstration Secondary School, Aba Campus (UNP/SSR.37/7B/UNSS/AC/0610)

Qualification and Experience:
Same as 'A' above

Duties:
Same as 'A' above"

C.) Headmistress - University of Nigeria Demonstration Primary /Nursery School, Aba Campus (UNP/SSR.37/8B/UNDPS/AC/0610)

Qualification and Experience:
A candidate for this post must possess a good first degree in Education with at least a teaching subject or a good first degree in at least a teaching subject plus a Postgraduate Diploma in Education from a recognized institution.

Special Attributes Required:
Good human relations, ability to take prompt action in decision-making, respect for other people's views, must be a lover of children.

Condition of Service
The University will be responsible for your fare which will be at a flat rate, applicable only to newly employed staff who prior to employment were resident outside Enugu State/Abia State. Accommodation may, where available, be provided for qualified staff at approved rates. Three months vacation leave is granted for every successfully completed 21 Months contract for non-Nigerian staff.
